Looking for someone who can POSITIVELY identify this one.
Likes to put out lots of pups at the base when it's happy.
Will always start leaning towards the light source and has to be rotated every few weeks during growing season to keep standing upright, otherwise will end up on it's side.
After many years finally got these yellow flowers and lots of small black seeds
Thank you for posting to r/whatsthisplant.
Do not eat/ingest a plant based on information provided in this subreddit.
For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Although there are many professionals helping with identification, we are not always correct, and eating/ingesting plants can be harmful or fatal if an incorrect ID is made.

Thanks u/KittenVicious. Looks like that is it for sure. And from Wiki: "common names include lemon ball cactus, golden ball cactus and yellow tower cactus*."*
Happy to help. She's very pretty! Have you successfully repotted any of her pups?
Yes probably around a dozen or more and some of them now have multiple base pups ready to be repotted as well. I think it's been 100% success rate with the pups rooting.
Honestly before the flowers and seeds hadn't been paying much attention to this cultivar and it could be ten years since I picked up the original- probably at a flea market from a greenhouse grower who was getting rid of overstock for $1 each. A slow grower for me...
In 2026 will try to do it justice and get a flat or two of round yellow baby pups going and pay more attention with more sun, waterings, and feedings. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again
What grow zone are you in? I'm 8b and need lights on my prickly pear that I rooted from a neighbor's yard with direct light (my back yard only gets indirect and my front only gets afternoon full sun)
That’s Steve. His name is Steve.
Gorgeous blooms, here was mine

That's a Bob Ross cactus, cuz it's definitely a happy little spikey desert tree.
