Lol
Yes, exactly. The word COUPLE is literally emphasized in all caps in the script. By the opening of Zootopia 3, they may very well already be dating.š„°
And it gets even more explicit: the post-credits scene where Judy presses the pen is clearly specified in the script as taking place during golden hour. Yesāsheās going to Nickās place.

I think this is referring to the fact their disguises indicate them as a couple, not that they actually are one. They disguise as a couple a lot
Interesting that they capitalized it for emphasis though.Ā
Maybe, but scripts have a lot of character related stuff capitalized kinda by default. Thereās a lot of odd capitalization here and there in scripts
In seriousness Iād like to see a short where Nick and Judy hang out not on an undercover case but on a hangout or date or whatever you want to call it and they get emotional do sweet things for each other regardless of their relationship status
Yup, fair enough.
Though maybe should start dating on their days off
That script capitalizes like 10% of its words. They are sipping PINA KOALAS, a very important detail I'm sure.
If the voice actors had to read the script, it's worth noting that they should say KOALAS and not "coladas".
That does kinda reduce the importance of capitalization though doesn't it? From 'Unique thing that tells us about the inner lives of characters' to 'VAs, please note this.'
In fact, further down in the comments, a screenwriter friend clarifies the use of capital letters in a script.
That new information makes "VAs, please take note of this" seem quite funny now in retrospect LOL
it's not for emphasis it's just script formatting
Given that those passages contain only one term emphasized in all caps, itās reasonable to infer thatāwhether itās Nick and Judy or Rick Wilde and Trudy CabbagepatchāJared is deliberately highlighting them as a COUPLE. That emphasis is a very positive sign for WildeHopps ;)
Look again, PINA KOALAS
Guess I missed itāsince itās a funny joke, I suppose Jared really wanted to emphasize it, haha. Itās pretty obvious he wants Nick and Judy to come across as a couple.

OH! Then the fake identities that Mr Big gave them (Rick and Trudy) are actually a couple?
If Nick and Judy actually ran away they would need to disguise as a couple while on the run... I kinda need this kind of fic
Yessss
P.S.: If that were the case, just remember who liked the idea of āāfalse identities the most (I know Nick had his logical reasons for going down that path, but...)
While watching Zootopia 2 in the cinema, I noticed that Nickās emotional involvement is shown much more strongly than Judyās. He constantly looks at her, through his glances, smiles, and gestures. She, on the other hand, is focused solely on the investigation and doesnāt pick up on the signals Nick is sending, or perhaps doesnāt perceive them as intense enough. This suggests to me that the writers wanted to show that she wasnāt yet āmatureā enough for a relationship with him, and that her need to prove to everyone that they are perfect at their jobs overshadows the thought that there might be something more than just cooperation between them.
I liked the slow development of the rabbit and the fox as characters, and Iām glad they didnāt immediately jump into kisses or openly declaring their love, instead allowing the storyline to develop further. From my perspective as a man, seeing Nickās behavior toward Judy, I can say that he truly loves her, but doesnāt show it too openly.
My wife, however, believes they are simply excellent partners and friends. Still, it would be hard for me if they donāt end up officially together, given the strong chemistry between them.
It makes sense, Judy is like 24-25 years old. Not a kid anymore but not a fully developed adult either.
Maybe she and Nick could hang out for a while and take a break from the zpd to heal from the wounds of the case
hmm i didn't quite notice that. perhaps it's time to go to the cinemas and watch it again ;)
Yes! Really, it's always a good time for this! ;D

Yeah i mean they feeding the fans, i just cant prove it yet.
How did you conclude that she was going to Nick's place? looked at the script and it dosent say anything about where she is going.
It's obvious she's going to see Nick, regardless of the nature of their relationship. They're close. It makes sense that after work they'd spend time together, whether at one of their houses or the other.
They have to pick between elephant exercise noises and "You shut up! No, YOU shut up!" every 15 minutes.
The gym likely closes at night.
I fear to imagine what kind of arguments the neighbours have in the middle of the night...
They should go on a nice picnic somewhere nice and quiet
. . . I like to think that at some point during their progressing relationship, Judy's neighbors or the elephant gymgoers would be the ONES who complain about the noises from their ehem. . . activities
LOL That's so real
Yeah guess thatās fair. She was playing the recording over and over because sheās anticipating going to nicks
I USE TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS
We! WE ALL DID
....WE WON!!!!!
Wait, where was the script found?
TSA confiscated it from Bellwether 20-minutes after the cut. xD
I really kinda wanna steel man this just for the sake of argument but it says it right there in the script folks.Ā
I remember how much they teased the pairing for Z2 and I have watched the disappointment in the fanbase who saw the movie. They're going to rustle our jimmies again for Z3 in the promos. I'd bet on that. xD
(I'm with you completely on the stance you mentioned regardless)
Im a screenwriter. Capitalization in scripts are not for emphasis in the way you're thinking.
Can you explain? It would be very helpful to clarify :)
Sure! It's basically a screenwriting convention used for various reasons like drawing the eye, introducing a brand new character, or an important prop. In this case, it's used as a way to make a reveal clear. It's a way to "direct on the page" as it were. When something new, unexpected, or visually important appears on screen, writers often capitalize it, so the moment pops on the page. The emphasis is not āromantic couple.ā The emphasis is ātwo people are here, not oneā, which is the reveal. (And that these two characters are an important reveal)
Writers never use CAPS as a way to convey something like they're a romantic couple, and this is important.
I got it! :D Thanks for sharing this so concisely and clearly. It should be more visible at the top for everyone, perhaps in a separate comment, to avoid confusion.
P.S.: It must be nice to be part of a script production. I think you've got something special šāāļø
I'm so glad it made sense, I get worried about my ability to explain stuff at times š On a personal level, I really want Judy and Nick to get together, too, but it can be stressful for everyone to see signs where there are none. I hope they'll get there, but I think the work on these films have been thoughtful regardless. As for screeenwriting... it's been tough, honestly! But even when I face lots of self doubt and struggles in the industry, I definitely tell myself I'm one of the lucky few who gets to tell stories for a living (hopefully I will get more opportunities in 2026. 2025 was dry af!).
I agree!
Regarding the last point... yes, it must have been tough. In times like these, it often helps not to disappear completely: sharing small things (short scenes, audio, ideas) to maintain some visibility. A minimum viable personal brand.
It doesn't fix the situation, but sometimes it's what keeps conversations going. Hopefully, 2026 will bring more activity. ;)
PiƱa Koala is also capitalized
YAY!!
Where can I read the manuscript? Thanks
At here https://deadline.com/2025/12/zootopia-2-script-read-jared-bush-screenplay-sequel-1236655109/
Savior <3
Manuscript? The Holy Scriptures*
WHERE CAN I READ THE SCRIPT
Or going to meet him someplace else, like a restaurant or a concert. Or possibly going to a work-related social gathering, though that's less likely. Or, least likely but still possible, even doing something unrelated to Nick or to work, because most adults will periodically engage in some type of social activity without their significant other.
Saying that she's going to Nick's place is a reasonable guess, but it's still a guess. And if she isn't going to Nick's, that doesn't take away from the other signs pointing to the development of their relationship.
Where can i read the script??
Yeah. A couple of BESTIES!!
yeah, because it's their undercover disguise. just like at the start of the movie
Can you read? They were disguised.
They aren't actually a couple. Geezus christ shippers are grasping at anything aren't they?
Sometimes it's just fun to speculate and look for little hints and teases. This could definitely mean nothing but it's fun to discuss nonetheless. No big deal :)
sure, but the non stop shipping posts are genuinely unbearably annoying now.
I get it. You could try to ignore those kinds of posts but I guess they do bombard this sub quite a bit. The hype is real haha
there are actual shipping subreddits for WildeHopps, but every time you try to get the shippers to post their shipping stuff over there. It's met with vitriol and massive downvoting, as if you just kicked a puppy right in front of them.
Is it really so hard to just use the shipping subreddit for shipping and the zootopia subreddit for zootopia? Or is everyone just forced to look and see this stuff on their fyp regardless if they wanted to or not.
Interesting. I've had a Reddit account for a few years now but only recently started looking and commenting in the Zootopia one so it's all new to me. I guess Wildehopps is so huge that it has taken over a bit.Ā I could see it maybe simmering down if they become a couple because at least then the mystery of "will they, won't they" is gone. Or maybe I'm delusional and it will make everything crazier lol.
