When I'm looking at YouTube on tablet those memes and pictures and all that crap show up as full screen in my feed and there's tons and tons of them now. Like to the point where I say screw using a tablet this is stupid I come here for videos
It is now completely unusable, for no reason. Do they not test shit beforehand? Or did some 50 IQ executive just tell them to make the thumbnails gargantuan because he thinks it looks better?
I've seen something like this happen if you're using Samsung Dex, where if you start the YouTube app in a small window, it stays in the mobile UI, even when you maximize it or even when you exit Samsung Dex. Easiest fix would be to force quit the YouTube app and re-launch it.

What I did on Samsung Galaxy Tab: deleted Youtube app (that deleted all updates), the old factory version prompted for an update, and after the update I got regular small size thumbs. But - apparently doesn't work for everyone(.#
But honest to fuck why do they keep making updates for everything that only seeks to worsen the experience. Why is nothing ever an improvement? Why must it be total shit every fucking time?! I am fucking done.

This has to be a bug, it just cannot be an actual change that YT made on purpose. Simply unusable garbage UI on a tablet.

Desktop also kept showing less rows than before, at this point i have a ridiculous amount of extensions installed to mae it usable
Of course you can revert, just go to the appstore and uninstall YouTube. This would revert the app to the oldest possible version.
Then you can either keep it at this, or if it's too broken - go and download an older .apk
Samsung tablets can't delete app.
I also reset the whole tablet, it default back to normal for 1 hour and back to gigantic thumbs
Just delete all app updates from the PlayStore, then download an older .apk and install that, dude. I wrote what the procedure is.
You can even fully delete it, but that needs a computer and adbshell
This kind of trash is so common on android tablets, its a real shame considering how good the hardware is.

Oddly, if I search for a particular channel or view my watch later playlist it displays just fine.
But when on my home feed the thumbnail is cropped because it's larger than my damn screen for each video.

This is a bug! I reverted back to pre-installed version and then updated to the latest - everything is now back to normal.
It's not a permanent fix. I've tried this twice now and it keeps reverting to the large thumbnails.
How to do this.. revert to the previous verion? I am going through a major sensory overload and too much brain work scrolling through this new UI 🥺
