My grandfather used to stay with us in Cocoa Beach during the winter and fish off our dock every day. Our cat would wait I. The yard behind the dock, a blue heron would be on one side of the yard, and another smaller heron-like bird on the other side. When grandpa would catch a fish, he’d throw it to one of them. Occasionally he’d throw one toward the cat and it would end up in the center and all of them would rush forward and there’d be a standoff. Usually the heron won as it had the longest neck and would just reach out and stab the fish. Wish we had video back then.

I don't even care for fishing but if I had a cat and heron to give joy to I'd do it. Sounds like a great way to spend a good summer day off
