I love videos of old raves. I feel like somewhere along the way the culture of actually dancing to the music got lost and now it's all about being packed in like sardines and not being able to do anything but face the DJ, jump in the air and fist pump.
Oh man this takes me back to my days in the Florida rave scene of the early 2000s. It's funny bc they look so quaint compared to the mega festivals and raves of today but they were so much fun. Trance instead of big room house and other stuff they play now. Everyone was actually there for the music and communal experience instead of hordes of ppl just filming content for their socials. That allowed people to be relaxed and free instead of worried about being caught on camera and uploaded immediately for the world to see. The funny thing is we used to lounge in the chill rooms of these raves and have these "what if" discussions about how cool it would be if we could incorporate this or that to enhance the experience. Big ideas, and now many of those ideas have been incorporated into the festival scene and instead of enhancing the experience it just turns it into a ridiculous show focused on spectacle rather than music, love, and community.
Well said dude. I go to underground raves now and they try to emulate these "old school" raves but its not the same.... Wish i was born a little earlier to experience 90s & early 2000s scene. Also i used to be into "EDM" in the 10s but just got sick of it towards the end of the decade.... felt too corporate or just mainstream/social media idk.... the music was also less dancy and more trip your balls to it if that make sense lol. so now i just listen to old school 90s stuff and go shows/events with that vibe.

I wish I could be there. That looks like the most enjoyable place to be ever
