Respectfully, this almost doesn't feel like an xkcd. It's still a good strip, but it does feel strange in a way distinct from Randall's other strange stuff. Maybe I'm just tripping though and he's just letting his inner tumblr out.
The joke is just a surreal take on the idea of queens in eusocial animal collectives (e.g. termites) being much larger via the absurd suggestion that not only was every sauropod skeleton reconstruction ever grossly inaccurate but also sauropods must have had queens with ridiculously long necks a la a creature like "Long Horse".

By "modern palaeontological reconstructions" I expect it means AI... it's what I'd expect from AI...
