Hey guys. I’m wondering what your experiences have been like when it comes to tap water/well water south of Jackson, particularly in Hoback or similar areas. Has anyone had their tap water tested lately? I was told years ago that the water contains benzene and that it should not be consumed. In addition to that, the water south of town is obviously extremely hard and full of minerals… so, any kind of input, knowledge, or opinions regarding the safety of the drinking water are greatly appreciated 🫶
Loaded with rust and smells fishy. Even after filtration it does remove the fishy smell and major red tint but still have red iron stains in all our sinks and tubs.
The soil content and concentration of septic systems are finally starting to be recognized. It probably depends a lot on your location. The county provides water testing, give them a call to ask about testing private wells maybe?
The USGS will have information on that. Even better if there is still a WY USGS.
It was horrible when I lived on runway lane 30 years ago, sounds like it hasn’t improved
Our water is delicious and has never come back with any issues. It is a good idea to test your water regularly and the county subsidizes it for you: https://www.tetonconservation.org/well-test-kits
