All for this being posted and folks being prepared, taking precautions and being smart. But it does feel strange that a company is posting their content on Reddit.
Usually in bad taste, in bad faith, insanely late, and in ignorance of any particular sub's rules. It's just blatant self-promotion usually.
Had an incident yesterday in the NASCAR sub with the Daily Mail pulling that shit with the Biffle news. (Granted, it's the Daily Mail, but still.) Mods and the sub did not take kindly to that.
Lots of complaints about the Newsweek account in various subs too.
CNN is definitely a new one to me though.
Edit: Yea, just looked. Account is 2 years old and just spams their shit; no actual engagement with any community.
I work in a 911 Center. People get really upset when they call in wanting to do a controlled burn and get told no. Please people. For the love of god just listen. Or buy a fucking dumpster.
Honestly, I don’t care who posted it, it’s useful information. I am planning on driving a u-haul down that I25 corridor on Saturday and now I know that I need to watch the wind and maybe delay a day. Weather events in Wyoming sure as hell aren’t going to make headline news.
If you're relying on Reddit to plan your trip, that's kindof a you issue lmao.
I'm glad you got a heads up about it this time, but most of the time posts on here about it come after the fact, as we're tallying top official wind speeds and having pissing contests about it. Lol.
Maybe use weather and DOT apps instead of encouraging the enshittification of Reddit because it benefitted you this one time.

But i only want to burn when we are in a drought AND when the wind is hurricane force. We used to be a proper country where i could do that
I don’t know what’s happened to freedom in the US 🤷♀️
CNN out here acting like they care only because we set a record the other day. Get out of here weather boy.
