I can actually write well I just don't have anything to write about, whatsoever, I've been reading all these Sci Fi magazines for weeks, I don't know what the hell to do, where do they come up with these ridicolous, good stories about little lost robots living in the jungle of a moon in Andromeda

  • Steal from the best. I suggest Shakespeare's The Tempest, set on some kind of outlawed planet. To give it a modern twist, introduce Al the AI (the first one is AL short for Albert or Algorithm, not AI twice).

Come on, they were asking for your ideas, not mine...

My neighbor Al (Short for Alton Brown [No relation]) he has lots of great ideas, but he's a meth head (self-declared [and proud]).

Anyway, I wrote a story based on the aliens who are secretly running our government and turning us all gay (Al says that's why he sucks cock behind Wendy's [the meth he gets in exchange is just a bonus])

Anyway, I showed him the story and he accused me of stealing his thoughts with witchcraft (I did not [I'm only a level three wizard and you need to be level five to steal thoughts])

Anyway, after that he stabbed me with a fork.

Where do you get these ideas? Totally fun read!

    his name is Al Artificious

  • How about a story about a guy and he’s like super cool and shoots guns and stuff. Then people come and do bad things like kidnapping a hot girl and he’s all ‘no’ and he shoots his guns at them but they get away, so he tracks them down and shoots his guns at them again and this time they die and then the hot girl is like ‘I love you’ and her five year old kid (she has a five year old kid) says ‘are you my new daddy?’ but he’s all ‘no’ and he goes home.

And she's got giant boobies jahoobies and she has a metal bra that shoots bullets at bad guys. But they take her bra away and then the male main character has to save her, and she cries a lot about it because she's a weak cyberwoman and her nipples are sore. And the main character has a badass theme song that's described in every scene 😎

(It's written like this: "Guitar noises, needle-eedle-ee, badass drums kick in, rimshot, aah!" -- but that last part's just sound effects from the main character having hot passionate gay sex with the villain, obvi.)

    I've already started hearing Nickelback

  • Go to r/worldbuilding, those nerds won't do anything with their works anyway

  • I could but then you'd steal my stories

Just let me steal your stories

    6-7 6-7 interesting point

  • You're doing it all wrong. Go binge research all the Harry Potter movies or LOTR movies. That's all the inspiration I need.

  • Ok so hear me out. Hot and sexy ghosts haunt asexual Edgar Allen Poe. Have your prose break into poetry in his style. Bonus points if there's absolutely no sex scenes.

  • Sabbath already wrote all of the good stories there are to write. So all writing by definition is derivative of their work. That’s where you should start.

Wait, maybe that was metal guitar…

  • What about a Royal Magic School (like Ever After High) in Space! With DBZ Power levels!

It could be Episodic, with the typical Magic School tropes and stories, but with extra epicness. Like, when the sports festival episode comes, there is a race competition, but they run at like match 7 or something.

Maybe the (Female obviously) MC is from one of those bad-guy/minion type races and is the first of her kind to be accepted into the school.

Honestly this sounds like a viable young reader series or anime, don't just give this stuff away

I got some concept of ideas that would make it more grown up.

Like, the MC is already a mother of two children (the school would be an University instead). And other more serious drama. And a human princess love interest.

There are some elements borrowed from WH40K, like an ecleciarchy with an Inquisition and Exterminatus. But they are progressive and inclusive, and only go after groups that threaten the cohesion and unity of the Imperium.

  • When I was in jr high, I tried to convince my friends to make a movie about the group of us, having a weekend sleepover where we talk about a spider with a bite that can induce a delayed psychedelic trip that’s short lived but reality bending. They share stories they’ve heard from their older siblings and make up obvious lies about having experienced it themselves. One kid says he heard about an island in the middle of the pond that’s at the edge of town where such a spider lives.

In the morning they set off to see if it’s true, saying goodbyes to their parents who’ve packed them lunches and believe it’s just an innocent fishing excursion.

The obstacles and setbacks of their journey grow increasingly bizarre. Residents of the town have always been odd but today is off the charts. As it gets dark and some town folk have become violent and destructive, the group find a safe place to ride out the chaotic night. They don’t sleep and eventually, daylight and bird songs. When they leave the hideout, everything seems calm and back to normal.

They decide to go back home and check on their family. They arrive to find the mother cowering behind the father who has a shoe in hand and uses it to smash a bug. Its smashed but it looks awfully like one of the spiders they’ve been looking for. The parents then ask why they’re back so soon. Not enough time has passed to have even made it to the pond on foot. Come to realize it’s still Sunday morning and about 15 minutes have passed.

This actually sounds like a cool idea!

  • honestly, if i just lay down in a confy place and let my mind wander without any distractions something always comes. if I am struggling, I start from scratch. I write mostly sci fi, so start by considering the star, the types of planets, geology, climate, biosphere, and so on, trying to create scenarios i havent played in my mind before. stories come easy when it is all set up in the background
if its good or not, that is up for debate

  • Maybe try a different genre.

  • Barack Obama leading the feminist lizardmen uprising

  • I’ll tell you something I’ve been thinking about. When you have characters with water powers it’s always tepid water or ice. You know what’s underrepresented? Characters with water powers that can wield boiling water and/or steam as a weapon or tool.

I know, it’s agonizing and not very heroic. That’s probably why it’s underrepresented but I don’t care my point still stands.

  • I have some ideas which I'd like to see being turned into stories, but I don't have the time to write them by myself. If you're serious, PM me and I'll give you my ideas.

  • I’m just a chapter away from finishing my 2026 Hugo Award-winning epic space opera. It’s 950 pages of the most captivating, mind-bending, interpersonal, intergalactic, inter dimensional prose ever written. But what the hell, you can have it.

It’s basically about dogs going places and doing things. Mostly everyday things like driving cars, but some uncommon things like riding ferris wheels. There is a recurring love interest with a peculiar hat fetish. At the end they go to a party in a big tree.

    You’re welcome.

I am pretty sure this is one of my five year old's favorite epic space operas. The 950 pages go by really fast

You must have gotten the preprint version off my website. I like to write stories that speak to all ages. Hopefully you got something out of it too.

I think about it every time I drive my car to a big dog party at the top of a tree. Life changing, honestly

  • maybe you should read the bible and add robots into scenes influenced by shakespear as someone said and by the bible. or you could just create a live action futurama show

  • I'm rarely out of ideas, but when i do what to write something new, i use these videos:

Another tip to have ideas i saw but haven't tried yet is: your favorite playlist on shuffle, the first song is the MC's personality, the second is the antagonist's/or/lover interest's, and the third is the plot. But you also can just choose the songs yourself...

Hope this have been helpful, even if just a little. Star kisses✨✨✨
