As writers, we often find ourselves searching for inspiration in the same places, but sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected sources. I'm curious about the unconventional methods or activities you've found helpful in sparking creativity. For instance, I’ve started taking long walks in nature while listening to music that doesn't relate to my writing genre at all. It allows my mind to wander freely and often leads to fresh ideas. Others might find inspiration in art, cooking, or even daydreaming without any distractions. What about you? Have you tried anything out of the ordinary that has helped fuel your creativity? Let’s share our unique approaches and see how they can help each other break through creative barriers!

I’ve noticed my best ideas show up when I’m doing something kind of mindless, like dishes or cleaning, and not listening to anything at all. My brain gets bored and starts filling the space on its own.
Yes! Boredom is very helpful for creativity
My dishwasher would be very offended if I let it see your comment.
Recreating my characters in the Sims and let the chaos inspire me.
Gummies. I just need to remember to write them down immediately

Some za and a good spot
Hi Eyerald, what works best for me is starting from small writing prompts I find here and there on the web and in books.
Right now I’m working on a writing app project that gives me a few prompts each day, with a strict limit on purpose. I’ve found that having boundaries actually helps force inspiration to emerge within a frame, instead of waiting for it to show up on its own. Tell me if you're interested by this kind of approach, I'd love to show my project.
TL:DR inspiration can come from anywhere and at anytime
I read National Geographic. It's basically an endless supply of historical fiction and sci-fi book ideas.
