So I am writing a fantasy books and have been since august, however, recently (recently being the past two weeks) I have not been able to write. Usually when I begin or plan to write I get this excited feelings because I adore my world and every character within the story, but It feels impossible to regain this feeling again, when I try to get some words down it's plain and mostly emotionless. Does anyone understand or have ways to get out of this?

It happens to everyone, often i have writers block because the next section is a bit outside my skill range
my recommendation is to take a break and fucking READ voraciously
If you were writing successfully for four months and then it stopped two weeks ago, look at your life to what happened three or four weeks ago. I say that writer's block is a symptom, not a disease. What has changed in your life? A new work pressure? Family issues? Illness? Money worries? Romance problems? Christmas? That's a VERY emotionally traumatic time for many people.
Sometimes, people do hit a story point that feels like a block. "I can't get through this, it all sucks." That's a different issue and people here can help with that too.
Hey there, that sucks, I’m sorry. But be assured, it will all come back! I’m impressed it took you so long to get your first block. What I usually do is to set a daily time and just write Morning Pages. 3 pages, no stopping, if you can’t think anything to write you write “and”. For me, it helps. But you can also just wait it out, one day you’ll have that jolt while shopping or taking a shower or so. Either way, it always feels like it’s never coming back. Always does, though.
No such thing as writers block. You are most likely congested with too many thoughts.
I highly recommend, some time you can. Set aside 10 minutes to work on writing nothing. Take that literally if you want. Just get them shitty thoughts out somehow. You may find some relief when it happens. Drink a cup of water with some lemon juice.
Step away for a week or two. Approach it with fresh eyes. I do this with editing and wow, it's like reading it for the first time.
Whenever I feel like I’m lacking motivation or inspiration, I just work on world building. It doesn’t even need to make it into your book as a main focus, but work on your world’s culture, climate, unique animal species, architecture, unusual jobs. It’s fun, and many times gets the creativity and ideas flowing for the rest of your book.
Another option: Take a break. Don’t write like it’s a chore. Write because you want to.
Good luck
Better than a cell block
my opinion - step back, take a break, read OTHER novels, enjoy, get back to your story, read it, you'll find it interesting again.
When I'm having writers block I go search the writing prompt subreddit.
I do occasionally write a whole different book when a prompt response really grows out of hand, but I've found it worthwhile to just get some words out that don't matter to my main project.
Is it from the part of the story you reached or the idea that the story is no longer in the puppy love stage?
It's mainly just being stuck on what to write next. I love my book and honestly still adore it, but I just haven't gotten that excited feeling that gives me inspiration and motivation for a while.
I just want to say that that I feel this and it is such a real part of writing.
I find free writing can help. Set a timer and a small goal around your actions (how long will you write/how many words). Don’t make the goal to write something well- just to write on some part of what you are feeling and what’s going on with the piece. There are a few different sites that let you do this - 750words, for example. My favorite free one is unstoppable ink because it will block everything else out and then let you export to Google Docs. It also has a voice option and that combination of talking and walking is also really helpful.
There is also a writers block diagnostic you can take if you find you have a persistent block. It’s on beat writer block - it’s not like a good housekeeping personality quiz ☺️it’s research based and has these helpful little checklists based on what is the source of the issue.
HTH!
Try listening to your characters with audio tools , it will help you .
I can understand. I have one novel that I started more than 15 years ago, I got stuck, I took a break and haven't gone back all these years. Since then I have completed a couple of writing projects but haven't finished that one.
It’s not a block it’s a creative dip. You need to recharge your creativity. Go do a few fun things and do some creative things which are nothing to do with writing. Visit an art gallery or take an art class.
