It can actually be interpreted as how sometimes we are stuck in a hurtful situation, say your life is a mess, everyone is hurting you but you seek solace in the one who is hurting you less.
It’s like how you are desperate to find comfort/love that you reduce it to traces of it that you can find in your life and define it as such.
Or it could also mean that…
You might be hurting at the hands of those you love but still you forget the pain because of how much you love them.
Damn! 😭

for me, when my hands are cold and i put them in cold water, they get even colder
Depends on how cold. I walked to school once when the windchill was -52C (-62F), and the first thing I did when I got there was run my hands under some water at the bathroom sink. Which was one of those big communal fountain sinks, so there was no way to turn on hot water. And even though it was cold water it felt like it was almost boiling.
I can relate
Been there, done that. I once visited the US in February (Australian here). Made the mistake of going outside to scrape ice off the windscreen of a car without putting gloves on, in -5 C.
Got back inside, my hands were numb. Ran cold water over them, it felt seriously hot.
A recommended frostbite treatment is to run your hands through steadily warmer and warmer water, starting at cold. You don't want to heatshock your body. So there is some medical science behind this.
😭😭😂😂
Piss feels like shit when your balls are pissing

I thought this was r/writingcirclejerk b/c I had the same reaction.
Surely someone is not actually impressed by that line... Right?
i have no writing standard for what i read. this made me laugh. reading this sht in a fanfic would make me laugh. its just so surface level metaphor idk. alcohol feels good when you're drunk, but it wont when its out of your system type sht.
I always found this sub weird because is there a single quote ever written that isn’t cringe to at least one person?
I get how someone may find this quote powerful if they had a bad life and they’re satisfied with a lot less than those around them are and didn’t know why until they read this.
When the bar is so low that you're grateful for scraps.
Interestingly, if my hands are cold, and then someone tries to warm my hands in theirs, the warm temperature of their hands makes mine feel like they're burning and it hurts. I wonder how that could translate as a metaphor into an emotional circumstance.
My world got so cold that even warmth stopped feeling gentle.
You're the King of metaphors 😂. What does this even mean, I can't figure it out myself

Magma is a cool refreshing drink after eating Buldak spicy ramen
Well, that's pseudo-profound nonsense.
Paradoxical heat sensation.
