He was…the lesser evils of those within the Firelands when we previously killed Ragnaros and there was a power vacuum, but we elected him as the new fire lord since he said he would be a bit more controlled…supposedly
I sincerely disagree. We helped him, because when we entered Firelands, first guy we met was his minion Scaldius. Pyroth could have easily been the most suitable awesome Firelord in history, warming abandoned kittens in his spare time or something, but we'll never know because we didn't ask.
We didn't, supposedly the people you send ahead of time to negotiate did speak to both I think or at least tried, they just thought smolderon was the better option.
Yep, that’s him. I was pissed when I saw him in the Dragonflight Raid and he was working for Fyrakk. As a shaman who played through the original legion class hall quests, felt kind of like a gut punch when he acknowledged you if you are a shaman for helping him before he tries to kill you
Yeah, but at the same time, he is the Elemental of Fire.
Water might be mercurial and changing, and Air flighty, but Fire? Fire is ever-hungry, ever-consuming. Fire will always want more, because without things to consume, without fuel, it will die, and it will always seek to run wild and free, even if this means it will leave the land a smoldering, barren landscape where even fire itself dies out for lack of anything to fuel it's existence.
I think of all the Elemental Lords, the Fire Lord's needing to be kept in check is just kind of inevitable.
He wasn't working for Fyrakk, he worked with him and got backstabbed at the end, Fyrakk sold him on expanding the firelands through the dream which makes sense for the firelord to do.
Every lore character in WoW seems to be able to change their body size depending on what looks best in any given scene. They also seem able to control their aging depending on what fits the chosen storyline.
Man the elemental lords are what really made me shy away from playing a shaman. Like, really, the lore is you have to appease these god children so you can use some powers? Screw that, I'll harness the void or light or something. Or just play a warrior and smash.
Eh, you're not really harnessing light/void so much as placing faith in/surrendering yourself to higher powers.
Even with the elements you're really communing with the spirit of the elements themselves and the lords are just the figurehead mouthpieces of the realm as the most powerful.
Which.... isn't too different from demon lords fighting among themselves for rank in the legion or even packs of bestial druids fighting for role of alpha.
Or.... orc warriors doing the whole makgora shit until they have a warchief
If anything hunters/rogues are the most 'do it yourself' kind of classes...which is why people struggle with the class fantasy so much. Grenades? Pistols? Traps? Poison? Pets? Magical dice? What are we doing here...?
Answer: whatever works. Low fantasy fantasy in a world of cosmic bullshit.
That's quite a Warband.
They can size themselves however; Neptulon is absolutely massive when he first shows up for this
I feel like the earthen ring was pissing him off at the intro, whining to neptulon to get back fighting lols
They can adjust their size.
That’s what she said.
She left me precisely because I couldn’t, not cool dude
Thats their campfire
Oh, this is a Smolderon. The traitor
If I had a nickel for every firelord who we ended up fighting I’d have 2 nickels which is not a lot but it’s weird that it happen twice.
I think you'd have 3. After we defeat Smolderon, Fyrakk absorbs his "Firelord" essence and ascended to be "sorta" the next Firelord...
Who wasn't defeated in the Firelands, so Fyrakk could technically return.
Tbf he was never really on our side was he?
He wasn't, no

He's so small he's become a smol-deron.

There is a different interpretation of fire. It could be seen as clensing as well. Just depends who gsts to the top
He wasn't working for Fyrakk, he worked with him and got backstabbed at the end, Fyrakk sold him on expanding the firelands through the dream which makes sense for the firelord to do.
Demi-gods seemingly are able to make themselves larger or smaller depending on the situation. Look at archimonde.
Or any of the dragon aspects.
Every lore character in WoW seems to be able to change their body size depending on what looks best in any given scene. They also seem able to control their aging depending on what fits the chosen storyline.
Players can change their size too with various buffs. People in this universe are just stretchy like that I guess.
They're trying their best.
Shame bout our boy smoldy and old ol drippy over there has lil lore accept being an Op card in hearthstone
Avatars can be any size they want to be. Their size doesn't really imply their power.
You will notice that various characters in the game have different sizes when they appear in various locations/situations.
Heck they could be little chibi characters floating around your head if they wanted to.
I'm eyeing a fire elemental that double crosses us

i wonder who the next firelord will be if smolderon was absorbed into fyrakk's axe
Now that Fyrakk absorbed Smolderon and then we killed him, will he regenerated as the new fire lord ?
Well he is called Smolderon, not Bigderon
It's funny how Smolderon is Firelord for like 5 in-game years before he gets on his own brand of firelord bullshit and we take him out too.
Does Smolderon and Baleroc from Firelands share the same model? It seems to me that this more likely is Baleroc.
