Current definition is "two or more, but not all" to differentiate it from pansexual. I've also seen "same and different genders" but I don't think you have to be attracted to your own gender to say you're bi, tbh.
I am bisexual, and at the risk of being disappeared by the LGBTQ+ Mafia, the genders i am attracted to, change from time to time, but by Traditions older than mankind, there can only ever be two...
I knew I should have added the /j to my comment. I didnt mean there were only two genders only that per the joke I was only ever attracted to two. Genuinely didn't mean to be rude, just was trying to make a joke piggybacking off the other comment.
Bi and Pan exist on the same continuum and all Pan people are Bi, but not all Bi people are Pan.
Bisexual meant two sexualities. In the beginning (not literal, just being fucking dramatic) there was Heterosexual and Homosexual. Then came the concept that you were neither really of those, and Bisexual was added to describe a person who was both (cause there's 2...). It was never about only liking 2 genders, but the mainstream way to describe it for so long was "they like both guys and girls" that it is an easy thing to think. And in fact, it was that oversimplification and micro-bierasure that led to the great "I'm not bi" event and the other Bi-but-I-want-to-be-hyper-specific variants were created.
Pan means you're attracted to all genders.
Bi means you're attracted to more than one. Could be 2. Could be 78. Could be all. Bi people are queer, they're not heterosexual or homosexual, they're somewhere in-between.
Bisexuality assumes a person's attraction is in-line with the classic gender binary. Bisexual is also used as an umbrella term to cover sexualities with more than one attraction, like pansexuality
No they know bilingual doesn't mean there are only two languages, they're applying the logic of the original post to another word that starts with bi to show that the logic is stupid, but it didn't work because everybody assumed they were serious.
Different people define the labels in different ways. You may define bisexual as being attracted to two genders, but that doesn't mean there aren't more genders than 2.
I have a bisexual friend who mostly dates nonbinary people, but he defines bisexual as being attracted to more than one gender, not necessarily exactly 2. Similarly some define pansexual as attracted to all genders, while others say it means not having any gender preference.
At the end of the day these terms broadly overlap but the distinction matters to some people, so it's fine to let people define themselves how they want. But bisexuality does not disprove the existence of more than 2 genders any more than bilingualism disproves the existence of more than 2 languages.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh no i didnt mean bisexaul disproved the more than 2 genders thing i just meant it as yk attracted to the two most common genders aka men and women :p while i think pan means to be attracted to all with no pref
Here: None of the words mean anything. I just looked it up, “bisexual” just means more than one sex or gender. Which means it means the same thing as pan. Which means that neither bisexual or pansexual are exclusive definitions to describe a person that is attracted to more than one sex or gender.
LGBTQIAWXYZ+123 is fucking stupid. The same acronym could be accomplished by just saying “NS”(not straight).
That said, my respect to the NS community, but to the people you hire to make your acronyms are fucking stupid.
Bisexual means you are only attracted to two genders – doesn't mean they are gonna tell you which ones they are...
This is the only good response

But isn't bisexual liking either male or female and pansexual more you like anything? Idk if I'm asking wrong but just curious as they're simular

Oh OK thank you thats a good explanation.
Yeahh but if you ask bisexuals on Reddit that question then they would say their attraction is to one gender and all the others.
A pancycle has all wheels.
Is the joke that the poster is a dumbass or…
Yes
Me uncle Jamal is tri-sexual
lol

Who is getting wooshed?
The comments explaining "no, bilingual means you only KNOW 2 languages"
So does this support lgbt or not?! I can’t even tell
Its just dark humour, doesnt need to be in favour or against anything. Just a dark dumb joke.
I was sorta joking too! Because seemed folks were just trying to line up behind their ideology
I’m not sure who we’re talking about. But the person quoting the tweet is an idiot.

Wait doesnt bisexaul mean attracted to two genders and pan to all genders?
i am bi and i mainly like men and women?

Yeah! And it's fine to define things that way! Just that not everybody you meet who uses those labels defines them exactly the same way
Yeah ofc >:)
I mean.
It is funny, but not entirely correct.
I will not argue this:
Sex is biology.
Gender is everything else.
Idc
Sex isn't binary either
The "sex" in "bisexuality" is about sexuality (attraction/desire) not about anatomy or biology.

Kinda feels like it would be easier to call straights NQ (Not Queer), since they're the odd one out.
