• It’s so sad that men have made people think men shouldn’t get flowers.

I asked my girlfriend for flowers for my birthday last year and she had so much fun making a big pretty bouquet and I loved it so much

I guess it came from people like me, who couldn't care less about flowers. I don't really care about the colours, the smell, the decorative element... not my thing. Not because I think it's girly, tho. Just... don't like them. That said, if someone gave me flowers as a present you bet your ass I'd be happy about it. Men tend to get their first flowers at their funeral and the fact that someone went out of their way to make it different and nice for me is more present than anything else.

Pro tip: flowers are cheap. Buy some flowers for your significant other every month or so. No need to get fancy even, just get something cheap and colorful. They are nice to have in the house. Then, as a bonus, you can now get your SO flowers whenever you want without it having to be some weird "I did something wrong, so here's a bribe to make it up to you" thing. You can just give them flowers because you both like flowers :)

    And sadly it worked.

I'm glad it's being unraveled and unwound for the next generations but cynical, pointlessly gendered marketing worked and made a whole industry in marketing filthy rich all to make insecure men feel masculine in their arbitrary rules.

Flowers had no business being gendered especially when gardening is such a universal love and always has been.

  • My wife gets me flowers every so often. I always love it

    Me too. Absolutely love it

    We’re lucky men

  • Unfun fact: Many men receive their first flowers at their funeral. Get ya boy some flowers!

Guys will laugh at me for having a feminist girlfriend... until they see the red carnations on my desk.

  • Sad truth truth is s the only time men get flowers is at their funeral. I'd love to send flowers to a guy but I worry it'll be seen as weird

Be the change you wanna see in the world! If the guy you send flowers too doesn’t like them for fear of not being manly enough then it means you can choose someone else! My boyfriend while not a flower guy appreciates the flowers I’ve given him and feels seen in a way no one else has seen him. Just like gentle love and tenderness. Kiss his forehead, kiss his cheeks, give him gentle head pats, hug him gently, and just look at him with tenderness. Men need to feel gentle love too not just burning passion. And if a guy can’t get behind that then he’s missing out of some seriously good stuff!

  • We give my husband sunflowers. He loves them so I grow them for him. That and tomatoes. Not sure what the obsession with tomatoes are but it’s serious.🤣

  • That is so cute

  • In the last 5 years I got one present, a juice box someone left at my desk at school, I've kept it with me since then

  • I don’t trust people who say ā€œUgh so girlyā€ because excuse me sir or madam, what is wrong with being a girl?

  • Men are like girls but had to put a tough forefront.
