I keep a cannoli ornament on my tree right next to my Pomeranian ornament.

I grew up believing that Christmas trees should reflect your family, even if it's messy. Every year I make it a tradition to buy an ornament that represents that year in my life. Something from a franchise I got obsessed with, a souvenir from a place I traveled, a new hobby I learned, something that I can look back on and remember its impact on me. My tree has brought me so much more joy that way.

When I was little, I wasn't allowed to even touch the Christmas tree for fear of "messing it up."

I take great joy in my two year old having placed ornaments and picking out his pizza one himself!
