Can't wait for part 67 where Jobojo Joestar and his stand pink pony club defeats the main villain by kicking him in the balls 42 times while monologing about fate and willpower
Rohan as a self insert has a lot of flaws and is a stand alone character but it becomes obvious that it's a self insert at certain points. (I mean flaws as not a Mary sue)
Like the fact that he just so happens to be a Manga artist who also happens to be awesome and successful and has the jojo of part 9 being a huge fan boy for him.
Rohan in part 9 literally has the same design as him in part 4 too.
Its mainly because araki is already quite old at 65 and with how long recent jojo parts have ran its not unlikely he will be too old to do another part after jojolands
Why don't other authors do this? If you plan to work in 1 universe for a long time, but want to keep things fresh and interesting, why not follow different stories and characters every 50-100 chapters? Gives opportunity for artistic expression without being restrained by rules you created on chapter 1.
The problem with superhero comics is that they keep using the same characters, locations, plot points and they keep selling the same stories with the multiverse tag on it
To be fair I think that’s a bit reductive as a description
Whilst often the main characters remain the same or return eventually most bew storylines absolutely introduce new elements and ideas that havnt been explored before like the kryptonite city in superman unlimited same with places whikst they arnt always explored much after there’s always a new planet or udnerground city
And a simaler thing goes with characters look at the green lanterns almost entire history or lizzie(as much as we hate her) Jon and Damian
Hell the fact Jon can exist at all is evidence of just how much the status quo changes
Stuff like the multiverse whilst occasionally a crutch is a way to explore a lot of cool ideas like the absolute verse
Characters in comics stay dead more than people act like you just don’t realise because you only look at popular ones
First it's the cast, not every author can make a good cast a lot of times, and if you can't make the new cast has interesting has the last one the chances that you will lose your fans are not small, the axe is something every author fears and for good reason making such a bold move could very well make you lose so many sales that you simply get dropped.
But I mean in a way older shonen are doing this now with the new generation shit, the four knights of the apocalypse and boruto being two examples, one is well loved by the fandom while the other is rather divisive and that would be a problem if the Naruto hype didn't carry it.
Because its easier to write with the same characters that people already like then try to expand. Araki is basically making a new series every new part, the only thing in common is the power system which is super flexible
Because it's a hell of a lot of work and a huge risk to ditch the characters people came to know and love to completely make up a new cast of unknowns that may not work.
She wanted to make friends because she couldnt comunicate. Despite what the series is called in like the first chapter (?) it is made very clear Komi wants to get passed her insecurity for a very specific reason. Making 100 friends is just as important to the story as her learning to communicate.
The fact that for the winter newsletter, the ONLY track he could share without spoilers is the fucking shop theme tells me that chapter 5 is gonna be absolutely fucking WILD
Stories can be retold. Reimagined. Added to. Subtracted from. Everything is a new iteration of another idea, filtered and changed one way or another. There is nothing new under the sun, and yet that’s what makes it so new and fresh. The white pen of hope can write a new future
Undertale is still going, despite most people switching to Deltarune. I have high hopes for the time after the story is complete, though finishing it will likely leave me depressed
I present Deltarune Green where everyone is neon green except sans because he's too lazy, Napstablook is yellow and Papyrus randomly changes in size everytime he appears
The writing has been a lot more tight, more personal stakes and all of that, a lot of problems that people had with the last arc don't seem to be part of the writing right now and that's basically it.
I would really say “redemption arc”. He did give one of his main characters cancer, forced Yuji to suffer even more, and aloud Mei Mei’s bloodline to continue
The only example i got is that i said some dumb stuff on r/curatedtumblr about wanting to eradicate ADHD
Neither of us really holds a grudge (except ephy, that mf definitely loathed my existence and i refuse to think otherwise)
Wasn't even banned from the sub, just demoted.
Just "bro, sorry, we looked through your profile and we can't afford to have a bad public image" (again, pretty sure it was entirely ephy because nobody else knew shit)
Either way, i lost nothing. In fact i walked out of that exchange in a net bonus because i got acquainted with reddit mod tools.
Not "despite everything" they had like 4 pending fights, 3 looming plot points and Gege just said nah I'm done (or got threatened with a gun idk) it was a really weird ending ngl
Plot getting worse and being unable to cope by using the fight scenes anymore. Like the plot was getting replaced by fight scenes, and those fight scenes starting to rely on hype and getting worse themselves. It was like putting nails on a coffin at some point.
The author started running out of steam, and it ended up similar to how game of thrones season 8 ended up presenting itself (albeit not as harsh of a drop off).
He didn’t plan the story enough so the pacing, plot lines, characters, and worldbuilding all ended up getting sorta screwy.
Highly disagree. He didn’t run out of steam. He ran out of time. Once Shonen jump was aware that he was on the last arc, he had a set number of chapters to get it done, which is almost impossible to guess. He also had to do this while getting hospitalized multiple times
People got mad Sukuna wasn’t dying so they started to make up stuff to say the manga was bad (my favorite was when they said that Sukuna defeating a character then another character showing up to fight him was bad writing), but anyway OP is full of shit I was there and everyone wanted more content every time there was a whiff of a leak there was 100000s of people on it like hungry piranhas.

JOJO WILL NEVER END!!!!
Can't wait for part 67 where Jobojo Joestar and his stand pink pony club defeats the main villain by kicking him in the balls 42 times while monologing about fate and willpower
And it’s still written by Araki
Araki becomes a Futurama head in a jar and continues to write JJBA until the heat-death of the universe.
Heat-death is simply Araki taking a short nap
Of course he'll do it, he's an inmortal vampire
And he still looks exactly the same as when he wrote Part 1
Part what again
https://i.redd.it/abh25g0fo09g1.gif
You caught on
Isn't JoJolands meant to be the last part?
Who told you that?
I just kept hearing that back when it first came out, both online and from irl friends
People just assumed since the author is getting older and these parts take actual years to write. But no its neither confirmed nor denied
I think it's because of the "au parts are combined versions of previous parts" theory
Like part 7 is au parts 1+2
Part 8 is au parts 3+4
And part 9 is au parts 5+6
Like jojo is imploding on itself
And people are saying that if it ended on part 9 then it would mean that jojo would be a trilogy of trilogies
I swear I remember Araki saying he'd like to work on jojo until he dies
But from what I know part 9 being the final part is just speculation.
Fair enough.
Also Rohan being a jojo character is enough to stop Araki from not working on it anymore. He loves his self insert child too much.
Honestly top 1 self insert oat
That is so real.
Tbf "Working on jojo till he dies" can mean making more rohan chapters.
Its mainly because araki is already quite old at 65 and with how long recent jojo parts have ran its not unlikely he will be too old to do another part after jojolands
Oh 😔
Hopefully he has some form of successor to continue making jojo
I rather it to end than continuing for 400 unnecessary chapters, looking at Komi-san
Except for jojos, jojos last eternal
To be fair, JoJo basically reboots/makes a sequel in practice with a new storyline with some regularity
Why don't other authors do this? If you plan to work in 1 universe for a long time, but want to keep things fresh and interesting, why not follow different stories and characters every 50-100 chapters? Gives opportunity for artistic expression without being restrained by rules you created on chapter 1.
Star Wars and also superheroes in general have been doing this a lot but it’s usually not always the same writer
The problem with superhero comics is that they keep using the same characters, locations, plot points and they keep selling the same stories with the multiverse tag on it
True. They simultaneously keep introducing new characters and somehow still don’t let older characters retire

Characters in comics stay dead more than people act like you just don’t realise because you only look at popular ones
Ask Goliath fans how they’re doing
That's a marvel and Dc problem. Not a superhero comics problem.
First it's the cast, not every author can make a good cast a lot of times, and if you can't make the new cast has interesting has the last one the chances that you will lose your fans are not small, the axe is something every author fears and for good reason making such a bold move could very well make you lose so many sales that you simply get dropped.

Dr who is british jojo

Among us arc
What’s wrong with Komi? I loved all the lovey dovey stuff…even if it included Yami
After the confession it all felt so pointless, the author was dragging the story as much as possible
Fair enough but it at least had a confession unlike other romance manga…cough Rent a girlfriend cough
Mtfs when the characters meant to be actually get together and start having an actual relationship.
Then fucking do it instead of nonsensical plot points and introducing useless characters
The literal dream of Komis was to make 100 friends mate.
The story aint names Komi wants to make 100 friends its named Komi cant communicate, she learned to communicate so wrap it up
She wanted to make friends because she couldnt comunicate. Despite what the series is called in like the first chapter (?) it is made very clear Komi wants to get passed her insecurity for a very specific reason. Making 100 friends is just as important to the story as her learning to communicate.
It's still going?!?! I remembered reading it when I was reading when I was 13, now I'm about to graduate my diplomas 😭
Nah, ended about a year ago, still about 2 years later than it really should have ended
deltarune fans will get depressed
We’re already depressed from chapter 4, we will not be surviving chapter 5
Unless Tricky Tony does something silly.
Nutdealer baby let's gooooo
Imagine all the 181440 possibilities.
If we consider nonsensical words, of course.
The fact that for the winter newsletter, the ONLY track he could share without spoilers is the fucking shop theme tells me that chapter 5 is gonna be absolutely fucking WILD
Oh you just know there’s probably a leitmotif in there somewhere that we just haven’t heard yet
Deltaruns fan: .....I just make more
Stories can be retold. Reimagined.
The underground is as big as I want it to be
a big AU boom like what happened with undertale would be insane to see when deltarune finishes
I present Deltarune Green where everyone is neon green except sans because he's too lazy, Napstablook is yellow and Papyrus randomly changes in size everytime he appears
That’s not even the Malcolm in the middle house
It is in the Family Guy (Sex MacFarlane) universe
And then there's modulo
Gege redemption arc
Why? Is it considered better so far?
I dont think everyone would say "its better", but I think it really does show off Geges writing.
There has been a lot of praise for the manga right now
The writing has been a lot more tight, more personal stakes and all of that, a lot of problems that people had with the last arc don't seem to be part of the writing right now and that's basically it.
I feel like it is cool
I was fine with jjk too tho so take my thoughts with a grain of salt
I would really say “redemption arc”. He did give one of his main characters cancer, forced Yuji to suffer even more, and aloud Mei Mei’s bloodline to continue
Is it a shonen too?
Yes
It’s JJK’s sequel
Rent a Girlfriend Mangaka: if enough people keep buying my slop I’m going keep extending the series
The biggest problem with the manga industry (apart from pedophilia): quality control
I mean, the art is good at least, so if anything else at least it's not absolutely trash in every front.
And then they all came back because we got a sequel like a year later
As an ex-jujutsufolk mod, the manga should've ended at 235
Wdym? It did

No, there were 60 chapters of Sukunas pre mortem hallucinations as his brain slowly died.
The lobotomy is leaking again... We might need to put you down forever sir if you pursue with this behavior

boring version, nepalise government wasn't mentioned

When me and my friend went from being like "woah they defeated the main villain like that???" and then chapter i think i lost 90% of my brain capacity
Why aren't you a mod there anymore?
The only example i got is that i said some dumb stuff on r/curatedtumblr about wanting to eradicate ADHD
Neither of us really holds a grudge (except ephy, that mf definitely loathed my existence and i refuse to think otherwise)

Is JJK just the 2020s version of Naruto in being stupid popular but the quality slowly dives down after a certain point?
Its more like Bleach where both mangakas were dealing with health issues and serious editorial pressure while in the endgame of their series
When one piece ends
Long ago, these lobotomites suffered and earned the peace of freedom. Then, the filthy greenskins attacked
https://preview.redd.it/n074gr5ib19g1.png?width=949&format=png&auto=webp&s=43622c20a4a708fd49edbd8734b32ebc0ad539ac
I remember most jjk fans crying and shitting themselves after that '5 chapters left' announcement despite everything
Not "despite everything" they had like 4 pending fights, 3 looming plot points and Gege just said nah I'm done (or got threatened with a gun idk) it was a really weird ending ngl
Well yeah I agree with you there. My point is that no matter what bs Gege supposedly pulled, jjk fans generally didn’t want to be freed
a tldr please?
Plot getting worse and being unable to cope by using the fight scenes anymore. Like the plot was getting replaced by fight scenes, and those fight scenes starting to rely on hype and getting worse themselves. It was like putting nails on a coffin at some point.
Okay bruh i guess chapter 265 never happened
The author started running out of steam, and it ended up similar to how game of thrones season 8 ended up presenting itself (albeit not as harsh of a drop off).

It wasn't that he ran out of steam it's that they got a shitload of editorial pressure and almost fucking died at one point because of their appendix
JJKfolkers got themselves into maniacal depresion due to Gojo's death, then they cried aobut a bunch of other unrelated things
is it even a spolier now T_T
Not risking it
People got mad Sukuna wasn’t dying so they started to make up stuff to say the manga was bad (my favorite was when they said that Sukuna defeating a character then another character showing up to fight him was bad writing), but anyway OP is full of shit I was there and everyone wanted more content every time there was a whiff of a leak there was 100000s of people on it like hungry piranhas.
at my school people were glad it ended but still wanted more because they all thought the ending sucked
“Glad it was over” = “I’m glad chapters stopped coming out”
It is contradictory with “wanting more”
yeah no shit einstein. I'm just the messenger, not an english teacher.
Well that’s where you’re wrong. They’re still doing the slandering.
And then they all went insane and started asking for more
Ha, jokes on YOU! I’m still going strong, I have like a dozen Jujutsu Kaisen sequels in my mind! For I AM Gege Akutami! The author! Trust me!!
wait it ended??
Yes and a “sequel” is already out
Huh??
Its called Jujutsu Kaisen: Mojuro AKA Modulo. Also it shouldnt have to be mentioned but its an manga its not animated yet
Huh. Read the few chapters, it will be popular. Even if they are just the same characters in new skins
land of lustrous made me feel weird
I feel like I should comment something :p
FNaF fans after UCN:
