That time when the hollow knight and Subnautica communities almost went to war because a hoverfish got pissed on in the crossfire of the great piss war
It's pretty far down the silksong wait iceberg. It's from before r/silksong became the main hub for insanity.
Basically, someone was making a meme for each hollow knight area, and made one about pissing on the lord fool in the colosseum and getting away with it due to the fools' slow movement speed. This devolved into everyone making piss edits of everything and everywhere. When someone posted a "Jerry the hoverfish is visiting the subreddit!" image, it naturally got pissed on. The r/HollowKnightMemes mods banned pissposting before things could escalate.
Silksong wait lore genuinely goes deeper than actual silksong lore.
r/drakethetype still makes fun of kids doing random shit and still get hundreds of upvotes over “drake the type to use reaction images” posts every few weeks-months.
Only online wars that I take somewhat seriously is Eve online wars. People have real skin in the game by spending thousands of real world cash on space ships and a completely huge player driven economy from nuts and bolts to full size warships and real time stock market that is actually affected by the actions of the factions. The biggest battle cost the players around 400k dollars of ships. The battle lasted for 14 hours and involved 5,000 players.
As someone who was part of the Genshin Fandom at the time, And is now a fully converted Sonic fan, while I will not condone some of the actions of the Sonic fans, Genshin in no way, shape or form deserved that award, Gacha games, as I have come to realize are not deserving of anything.

Reminds me of those old videos of people trying to start fandom wars lmfao
Memba the time r/smg4 and r/drakethetype were beefing
What a random thing to happen.
all it was was r/drakethetype making fun of autistic children and them getting mad about it
r/drakethetype still makes fun of kids doing random shit and still get hundreds of upvotes over “drake the type to use reaction images” posts every few weeks-months.
Reminds me of the 4chan vs Reddit wars. Fedora tippers vs Edgy holocaust deniers.
Or the reddit and Instagram wars. Or the reddit and twitter wars. Or reddit and reddit wars. Damn these redditors ruined reddit forever.

Reddit and insta is non-existant, 9/10 it's just some kid making fun of a bot

Wasn't one of the biggest battle started because some dude pressed the wrong button and entire fleet jumped to enemy territory or something?
That was the battle of R5RB, right?
No, that was the previous most expensive battle. This one was battle of M2-XFE
Wait there’s a new one???
I love arguing about pointless stuff that doesn’t matter. It’s great

The hilariously petty time when Undertale fans tried to slander Touhou because cChara lost to Sakuya in ONE JZboy animation
Did they forget their origins?
It can be funny, atleast it used to feel fun.

Sonic fans always clamor that the game awards don’t matter and 50% of game awards drama is related to them

Why endulge in real stuff happening in the work when we can watch people on the internet fight over the smallest pettiest low-stakes nonsense
The grimdank-prequelmemes war finally ended when we dropped this on them.
