the sports car part isn't even that bad, the pigs driving and it being a sports car could've been in the og book had it been more recent and I would not have questioned it.
having the main motivation for the revolution being shipped to the slaughter house is so much worse. same with the pigs being just stupid.
I mean it looks like a ridiculously unfaithful adaptation, but honestly I’m slightly intrigued, might have to go see this in theatre when it comes out.
He snitched on people sympathizing with Stalin, which he didn't consider like True Communist because they were fine with Nazism when Stalin was at peace with them and also when George fought in the Spanish civil war on the Marxism party side and saw the bickering between the multiple Left leaning group that eventually lost and he had to leave the country.
While tankies make up ridiculous shit about Orwell to pretend that he was worse than he actually was, he did not just snitch on USSR and Stalin sympathisers, and a lot of his accusations were baseless anyways, amounting to rumours and hearsay, so it’s not like the majority of the people he reported were hardcore Stalin supporters
But yeah, Stalin and the USSR were why he started opposing communism, despite being a socialist himself, but it was not just against Stalin sympathisers, it was communists in general
Yeah I guess most of them weren't hardcore but we also have to consider the fact he gave a list of people that weren't fit to make Anticommunist propaganda to his long-time friend (possibly lover/in-love) when he was dying of tuberculosis, 3 months before succumbing to it. And ultimely it wasn't a Blacklist that would send the people on it to prison or killed, they just weren't offered a job to work in the 1946 Propaganda machine against Soviet influence.
I really hope the trailer is just fucking with us and the actual movie is more true to the book, it’d probably be a good way to recreate the way the original book catches you off guard.
I mean that’s probably not what’s happening, but it’d be funny.
In general yes but the book itself was a direct allegory to the rise of the Soviet Union and it's many failures. Like pretty much as close to 1-to-1 to Soviet history as you can get while maintaining the farm setting
If i had a nickel for every time a movie based off a book with an important morale and turned into a typical kids cartoon movie with a CEO baddie, i would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

adding a exterior villain completely messes up the point of the book
at the end the pigs pretty much became human-like dealing with humans wearing clothes standing on 2 etc
it would like be cool at the end scene
yeah but still the corruption is supposed to come from inside not outside
and they do start interacting with human businesses, but only at the end and that's the point of the ending
O'Hare
External villian (humans) always existed, but pigs are becoming like them while trying to oppose them, that's literally the point of book
the point was always pretty shitty to begin with tbh
Ive heard lots of people say this but I think its pretty good
If you care to explain could you explain why you think that? I cant think of a reason.
Could be bitterness from being forced to read it in school like shakespeare
"This will be the first farm operated by animals.Like some king of......Animal Farm"
NEIMAN, AM I RUSHING OR AM I DRAGGING
The question is, is Fletcher the pig, or Neiman?🤔🤔🤔
Its almost like he's in some king od... Animal Farm...
I can’t make this shit up: https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/s/pKtCOzadan

Dont see ot in the theatre please just wait till you can pirate it. Movies like this dont deserve your money.
Seth Rogan pig in sport car
It’s what George would’ve wanted.
Also why does the guy they stampede look like george orwell???
It’s Orwell’s symbolic punishment because he acted as an informant for the British government and snitched on communists and communist sympathisers

Jorjor Wel watching his book about how Soviets are bad get turned into a movie about how capitalism is bad somehow
https://i.redd.it/jt0orn9o2u6g1.gif
It’s a book about how all authoritarianism is bad, though?
Yes, that was the point LMAO.
Orwell was much closer to left wing politics but he believed that every form of dictatorship was bad.
In general yes but the book itself was a direct allegory to the rise of the Soviet Union and it's many failures. Like pretty much as close to 1-to-1 to Soviet history as you can get while maintaining the farm setting
It wasn't about "Communism bad" tho, it was how Authoritarian policy's can creep in even in good intentioned government
Point out where I said it was. Seriously, do it. Use those reading skills and tell me exactly where I said the book was about communism
Jar-Jar Well?
I feel like culturally we’re at a point where Anne Frank will be in Fortnite
Wasnt there an MLK jr. memorial in Fortnite already?
Like I know you thought you were joking, but we are WAY closer to that than you think.

it looks alright but nothing like the book.
