illegal crimes, as opposed to legal crimes

    parent
    275 points tin_sigma

when you think about it, legal crimes exist if you're powerful/rich enough

    parent root
    135 points slim1shaney

That's literally what any crime that has a fine is. It's a crime for poor people, but it's just how much that action costs for rich people

do you really think cops are going to take legal action just because there is a video of someone doing a crime, without somebody making a Police Report or Incident Report corresponding to it

    parent
    15 points jbyrdab

i think the point is to get so much bad optics that they have to do something.

Because sure maybe the police won't do anything, but i bet random person seeing so and so doing a crime would assume its real.

IF nothing else, tricking the elderly/conspiratorial/idiotic is apt to starting some shit, because they'll believe anything and likely act on it.

    parent root
    1 points bongkrekic

the optics on these people cannot get worse even if you wipe down the lenses for sandpaper, and people would ABSOLUTELY generate this stuff unprovoked AS A JOKE for the love of the game if social media was not extremely sanitised with 50 billion content filters

    parent root
    3 points jbyrdab

If politics have taught me anything, it's that the belief of a threat is more powerful than the actual effect of one.

The response shouldn't be that it will never work so why try, it should be questioning how much until people start honestly believing it might.

So in that respect, trying and seeing if we can get people riled up is a fortunate idea, even if only in the respect of making those in power believe AI poses a threat to their reputation.

Misinformation is the number one power politicians have over the ill-educated public, the best way to get on their nerves is to use their weapon against them.

Especially while the full extent of AI isn't fully comprehended by the public

the problem with that is that CEOs have a lot of money which means even if the footage was real they could pay the right people to ignore it

    parent
    55 points DH64

lets just keep costing them money then

    parent root
    17 points MethodAdmirable4220

Strength in numbers. The more we do it the more they have to pay. It won't matter physically, but emotionally they'll feel unfairly treated and want to do something

"but, but imagine how happy and jolly the investors will be! Coca Cola did assist in the assassinations of over 100 Columbian union members, so it wouldn't be out of the question

    parent
  • 1 points Possible_Golf3180

Unfortunately they don’t care about getting seen committing most of those crimes, a fine is just money. They care more about getting caught doing something that would make distributing the footage illegal.

    parent
  • 1 points MartinByde

This will make them make it forbidden to us and allowed to them. Dont.

  • 1 points Edmord17

Wasn’t there already something about them being gangsters or something? I guess it was for cool factor than anything negative but it did feature possible crimes, and none of them gave a damn

I am gonna make an ai video where someone makes ai to make a video of someone making an ai video that makes an ai video who he then makes an ai video that shows a person making an ai video who set fictional character then makes an ai to make a video of someone killing someone and after he kills him he starts yelling "POTATOES! YOU'RE A TOMATO" and then the creator of that video screams in fear and shuts his computer which his creator is bumped about all of that and decides he should stop which then his own creator sees all of that and says "yeah I am not dealing with that" and after that his creator says "what the sht?" and then his pc gets on fire which then led on his creator pc to catch on fire and then at the end the main creator of this ai vid stares at the screen with his jaw wide open and decides to open SFM to make his propaganda video

There's no laws against it afaik and there should absolutely be laws there. They might sue you if you're American and establish a precedent which is as good as laws for some fucking reason. Might not want to experience the weight of a billionaire's legal team breathing down your neck. All in all, morally it's righteous. Logically, don't.
