My husband and I have been TTC our third for 15 months. I’m 34 and have a 5 and 4 year old. I recently received the unexplained infertility diagnosis. I also did my first month of Letrozole + Ovidrel with no success.
Is it just my age? Has anyone else struggled to conceive their third?
I keep trying to solve this puzzle of how to fix this. I keep wondering if there’s something else I need to change? More supplements? It hurts to know that it’s actually out of my control and this third baby may not be in our bingo card.
I’m also TTC #3. I have 5 and 2 yos. 13 months trying and an ectopic a year ago (lost a tube.) I’m almost 32, husband 35. May be worth chatting with a fertility specialist if you haven’t already and having a sperm analysis. Hang in there…I feel ya.
Currently TTC #2 12 months now. Took 18 months first time and only got pregnant after Hycosy procedure.
Got another Hycosy, this time with my Dr from previous pregnancy who has advised one tube is blocked. She thinks this could be reason for our timelines. Booked in for HSG (Hysterosalpingogram) and Fallopian Tube Recanalization (FTR) now.
Husband and I struggled with secondary infertility for 18 months. I was 36 when we started trying. It took a year working with a fertility clinic before they pointed out that I had a uterine polyp that could be the issue. Had a polypectomy and pregnant (on letrozole) 2 cycles after that. Unexplained infertility isn't a disease, it's the symptom of another hidden issue. Keep searching.
I’ve done IVF to get pregnant with my 3 bio kids (also have 2 adopted) and have also worked for a femtech company giving measured hormonal insights. Has your husband been tested? Male fertility can be a factor even if you were able to get pregnant before (https://www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/male-infertility).
If you’ve done a med round to induce ovulation, how were your cycles prior to that? Happy to chat more. I’m also a doula and lactation consultant. During my femtech time I looked at a LOT of hormonal daily charts for women of LH and progesterone. Happy to help if I can - feel free to DM me if you prefer.
