I found this metal cover or handle in my home but cannot figure out what it is. There is no branding or labeling. I’m thinking it maybe fell off an appliance. Included a mouse for scale in my photo.

I think so to as the thumbprint makes it seem like there could’ve been a button press or something. Given the small gripping pieces on the back it doesn’t seem like it would be sturdy enough for a handle.
Definitely kitchen utensil handle piece. I have a pair of large grill tongs with rubber handles and that is the cosmetic piece over the rubber. Hole is for the thumb part.
My title describes the thing it is a small metal item I found in my home. It is lightweight and slightly larger than a computer mouse. I searched on google for metal handle and I tried using ChatGPT and Google to image search. The back of it has little parts that make it appear that it would pop into the original appliance or device. The hole is thumb sized so makes me think of a handle over a button.

Crumbscraper. Used at fine dining places all over.
Looks like part of a kitchen utensil handle.

Fans and other electrical items have similar bezels; even automotive. Locking tabs on the back would be a clue.

I have a big box store discount bbq set and this is part of every handle
It looks to me like a small portable shoehorn, the hole is for your finger to help pull it out after foot goes in shoe
Looks like a handle on a kitchen utensil that glued on to make it look less plastic-y. Have you checked your dishwasher and utensil stand/drawer?
It could be a cover for a window handle
Like a fancy scalpel handle
Has anyone in the house had carpel tunnel syndrome or an injured wrist?
It looks like one of the inserts that slip into some fabric wrist supports.
It looks like a crumber for a tablecloth.
It's the inlay to a utensil handle.
Check your stapler. May be missing an asthetic part.
