Small cylindrical pellets, waxy feeling. Size of a nickel. Found in a public park next to trail.

I can smell this comment, and I haven't been near that product in decades.

    parent root
    53 points Flawed-and-Clawed

Wow that’s immediately what I thought it was! But I haven’t seen it since I helped my grandmother with her dog and she died like 20 years ago. Good to know somethings never change.

Thanks for the memories. I worked the production line at Purina making that over 50 years ago as one of my early jobs. Lots of fun times and stories and not too much work.

Can confirm. I feed it to my dog.

Or as I call meat scented fake food/wax

    parent root
    6 points fishlope-

I call them mealworms! But they're one of my favorite things to use as a dog treat.

    parent root
    3 points biggreasyrhinos

Used to feed that to the turtles in my yard. They loooved it

    parent root
    5 points BunnyLu423

Oh gross. This stuff is horrible for your dog. Just read the ingredients! The smell & the fake coloring. Disgusting.

Dog food in areas where people may walk them always disturbs me. There have been too many instances of randos poisoning pets.

When I was homeless I would feed my dog wherever I was. He had his own special bowl I carried clipped to my bag, it may not be nefarious just someone feeding their dog wherever they are at the time.

dogs are messy eaters and may not want to pick thru the grass for a little pellet of food

Did you tell my dog about that? He won’t eat the treats that delivery drivers toss down. Somebody told him not to accept treats from strangers and it wasn’t me!

I lived across from a park. One day while looking out the window, I saw a car pull up and a woman got out of the passenger side and set something down behind a tree. I went to check it out and found several cookies, each with a small hole in the middle. Idk if she was trying to feed the squirrels or what but I picked them up with a plastic bag and threw them away.

It looks like moist dog food. The kind that comes in little packets like this https://www.purina.com/dogs/shop/moist-meaty-burger-with-cheddar-cheese-dog-food

I wouldn't let my dog eat them though. I would hope that someone wouldn't have poisoned them expecting dogs in the area will find and eat them.

( Not trying to be a Debbie Downer but there's too many crazy people out there.)

A very picky dog separated out the parts he didn't like from the Kibbles & Bits mix.

    parent
    17 points Soggy_Vanilla5133

My previous dog would eat his dog food except leave a pile of brown triangle shaped bits and a mean side eye. He was like how many times do I have to tell you I do not like the brown triangles?!. I cannot remember the name of the kibble.

Reminds me of the things Gaines Burgers were made of back in the day, though they were compressed into a patty.

Watch out for your dogs people. It reminds me of the time I found a bunch of thumb tacks at the dog park.
