If South Park taught me anything its that in retirement homes those with the best Hummel collections are the top bitch in the yard, so very valuable for old people.
I work for a (small local) charity and someone donated a Hummel collection. We priced them and were going to sell them for the cash to use for the charity. They were not worth much and we donated them to the local retirement community. They loved them.
Hummel figurines were very popular in the 1950s and 60s. My Grandmother bought some in Germany after WW2. I remember her showing them off to other Middle class ladies that visited her house.
My mom gave me her Boy in the Apple Tree lamp Hummel that her mother bought when they were stationed in Germany. My grandfather fought for the Canadian airforce in WWII and remained in the army the rest of his career. My Mom grew up an Army brat, and I grew up admiring that lamp on her bedside table. I'm buying my own home this month and I was just thinking about where it should live! It's value is 100% sentimental
That's awesome! My parents got a bunch when we were stationed in Berlin but my favorite is a set from when the wall was still up, of the kids standing at the Brandenburg Gate
I still collect Hummels, and they are not cheap 😂 they go at the flea market for upwards of 40-300 Canadian? This looks like it might be a remake though, check the bottom :)
Yeah the individual figures go for $40-80, with the bigger or rare ones for up to $300 or so. We got one last year for $80 as a replacement for one my husband broke (his mom’s) as a kid.
Did you see them selling for $40, or did you see them priced at $40. Those are two different things. Antique and vintage stores are notorious for, essentially, simply being hoarding rooms given a sheen of sanity by pretending the owner is ever going to sell anything, but pricing things at 2-20x what anyone is actually buying them for. There's a local antique shop that is famous for 'selling every pattern of vintage Pyrex' but the prices are so ridiculous that I've literally seen the same pieces there for over a decade.
I have my grandmas collection of mostly religious ones, and I’d love to pass them to someone who would appreciate them. Please someone relieve me of them lol
So many people here are confident it’s a true Hummel, and it just proves they must not have spent time around them in real life. The expression on the face doesn’t match, that yellow is not at all common, and the glossy finish isn’t a match, either. OP didn’t include a photo of any marks (at least not initially; maybe there’ll be some in the thread), but I’d sure like to see what the bottom says.
This is 100% accurate for the Hummel’s. I got from my mom. They sat in a smoky house for 50 years. I think that they have recovered now sitting in storage.
OMG. Hummel.... my hubs inherited them from his parents (who were not yet dead at the time; his mom is still living). He unloaded them at an online auction and got some money because he had a WHOLE display case full of them. Some are more rare than others and fetch some real money.
It could be a Goebel or it could be a Goebel Hummel. Look for any markings or signature. If there's a MI Hummel signature with a bee or a crown it's a Hummel. If not it's a Goebel.

I have my mom's hummel nativity figures. Their dollar doesn't even come close to the memories I hold.
Does it have any marking on the bottom?
It looks like it may be a faux Hummel, or Hummel parallel
This is not a Hummel.
It’s a chalk reproduction of a Hummel.
I think this one may be a Devon Ware figurine.
Looks like a Hummel collectible. Basically worthless

Labubus in 2070.
I saw it on Better Call Saul. LOL
Such a great scene!

Wow. Can you post a picture?
It's in storage atm, but will post once it is set up in our new home!
Congratulations on your new place! 🎉💖
Thank you!

I don’t know and it doesn’t matter
Not if youre a morally grey lawyer on bar suspension 😏
I was hoping someone would bring up Saul
Was looking for this reference, am delighted I wasn’t disappointed
Came looking for this comment.
My son tried to sell some of his grandmothers Hummels on eBay. Not a lot of interest as the only people who like Hummels are dead
Hummels can be worth a few hundred dollars if rare or in good condition.
Very doubtful, unfortunately nobody collects Hummels anymore. I have a bin full of them from my mom.
Incidentally, can I buy your Hummels?
Sure if you want to send me a private message I can take some pictures of them in the next few days and send them to you.
My mother in law still collects them, and they cost about $200 the last time I bought one for her.

Dm me with a price!
Weird. Quite a few have sold recently on eBay for hundreds. The older rare ones can be quite valuable. Newer less well made ones are not worth as much.
Well, maybe this is a California thing I live in Southern California and when I go to estate sales, you just see them sitting with no one buying them.
It's a fake Hummel
It's actually a fake Hummel, which is so worthless it actually has negative value. You'd have to pay me cash money to dispose of that for you.

Except for the collector who has every other Hummel in which case worth a bit
They are very valuable for insurance after your cat knocks them off the shelf
Looks like a replica of the Hummel. Check the feet to see if there is a bee stamp
Looks like a reproduction of a Hummel figurine. Worthless unless bottom marked.
It looks like a Hummel, but more shiny and yellow?
Kudos on the condition, though. Most Hummels I've seen are caked with cigarette smoke lol
This is 100% accurate for the Hummel’s. I got from my mom. They sat in a smoky house for 50 years. I think that they have recovered now sitting in storage.
They made a lot of knock’s offs of the Hummels as well, I have 2 from my grandparents. I like them, but they have no monetary value.
Found an identical one identified as hand painted Devon Ware
Seems to be cotton or maybe a synthetic fabric. Definitely white.
You beat me to it.
What does the bottom look like is it signed or a number?
She's beautiful ❤️
Looks like a Hummel knock off
This is a chalk where copy of a Hummel
They’re hummels take my word for it…

I recall figurines being sold with watches. Alice in wonder land for sure. This looks familiar.
Yeah looks like a
zip upwhite hoodie in the background. Hope that helps. Background looks like a white sheet to me ;-)
Oh yeah, it looks like some white cloth and a cardboard box. Maybe a jumper or blanket under the white sheet? Hope this helps!
You'd better call Saul.
My mom has some of these from her parents
The backround appears to be either a champion or russel brand white sweatshirt
Appears to be a sweatshirt.
It's old people funko pops.
Watch better call saul
Voodoo doll? Run for your life?
I have a Hummel (I think) musical figurine. It still works. It's older than me, I'm positive, and I'm 60. My mother had it before me.
I'll never get rid of it.
Looks like Pennywise when he turns around
What is stamped on the bottom?
Nothing
See if your Gran was a party girl, check to see if the head is a cork.
Hummel. Super popular collectible in mid-century era.
Looks like a carnival chalk figurine.
The girl is Dutch
Hummel figure. The old people version of Beenie Babies.
That's is a Hummel. They came out mid 1930's I think. My grandmother had several. Some can be worth a bit
OMG. Hummel.... my hubs inherited them from his parents (who were not yet dead at the time; his mom is still living). He unloaded them at an online auction and got some money because he had a WHOLE display case full of them. Some are more rare than others and fetch some real money.

Edit: look for the markings on the bottom
Whatever it is, it's truly hideous.
*its
It is background?
