Pretty much the title. I tried to find a trade that gets CJ/Kispert to NY but they’re over the 1st apron already and the 2nd isn’t that far off
Maybe a 3 team trade? I’ve used https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine
Someone smarter than me can probably figure out the puzzle
I don’t think our top 8 protected is going to be in danger. We will be fine

lol, we squeaked out a victory after Memphis sat half their lineup. slow down
Lol almost all those guy have been injured the whole season but yes.
Pippen, Edey and Jerome were playing a couple weeks ago and Ja played in the past week, but yeah the point is still that they had a bunch of guys out. We had Bilal and Corey out, but I think most of us get what happened.Edit - looked at the dates and the year must have been 2024 and I just saw "December"
Huh Ty Jerome and Pippen Jr. haven’t made his season debut yet and Edey has only played 11 games missed 17 games so far. But yes they were injured so it doesn’t it mean much.
Yeah I just saw December as their last games played and must have missed that it was 2024
Nah Pippen hasn’t played all year. Funny story I saw him when I was getting my ACL repaired at the hospital getting his foot looked at. Nice guy.
That's crazy! And yeah I saw "December" as the last game played and assumed it was this past December. Hope your recovery is going the way you hoped! Awesome that he's a good guy. Injuries suck
Appreciate it bro been going good thankfully! But yea it was weird since he’s on the Grizz he was in Indy where I was getting my surgery done but these NBA players get flown wherever to get to the best doctors haha.
Memphis has actually been playing quite well with all these injuries, they were in the trenches when they had all these guys
Yeah I saw an article about them having gone 6-2 before they faced us, or something. I'm clearly not well versed enough on Memphis
They’ve always been better without Ja, that’s been the case for the last 3-4 years, but they won’t wake up and trade him and now his value is so much worse with all the stupid stuff he’s done on top of not staying healthy
only two people of consequence there and I finally get my answer to why they aren't playing scottie pipen jr after he was legitimately cooking last season.
No. It's easier to make the team lose on purpose than it is to make a trade happen.
I think it’s more likely we trade away CJ or Khris early rather than trade to get our pick back. But if it’s really looking in danger even after that then we gotta consider, Kispert is a good option for them especially off the bench.
I'm not sure trading Middleton away is going to result in us winning fewer games.
Pump the brakes a bit lol. We still have the worst record in the league and that’s 100% by design. This FO would sign Killian Hayes and give him 42 minutes a game if it meant keeping that pick
The pick could be in danger from external things; the league is currently reviewing its policy to prevent tanking. I would not be surprised at all if they make it so teams cannot qualify for a top 8 pick in consecutive years or something along that nature to stop exactly what we've been doing.
Tanking is absolutely bad for the NBA product as a whole. When too many teams do it, you have this tremendous disparty of talent and the games become very predictable and unexciting. I have stopped watching for the first time in 16 years because of the Wizards persistent tanking. Whatever you justify it with, at the end of the day it makes for very boring and disappointing seasons.
Brian Keefe has so many lineup options to ensure the pick stays, it'll be alright.
I dunno if you noticed but we are dead last comfortably and now its a race in the opposite way. The other teams were at 6 wins before we got our 5th. We will not win until they win. We always win when there's space to win while remaining dead last. Everytime the other teams ahead of us win. Expect one from us around the corner. Our last few wins have not put last place in jeopardy. If anything the teams infront of us if they start playing well it'll give us space to actually attempt to be better. If not.. WE will remain in last place until you guys win so there's no point. We are keeping the pick long story short.
I wouldn't say "comfortably" dead last. We're only 2 games out of sixth from last.
lol I don’t think you have to worry about this. The team doesn’t have anything to figure out. They are not constructed to be even a decent team right now.
I don't think we can get the protections removed because there are Swaps on it with Phoenix & Memphis. This is one of the few drafts were it doesn't make sense to play better. Even if Kyshawn turns into 2019 Kawhi, Tre becomes Steph, & Bub turns into John Wall 2.0 this team needs to lose this year.
I hate it when we lose, but this is one of those "generational" draft classes(1996,2003). just pray we get a top 4 pick.
This team is one more young corner stone piece away from being ready to takeover the east.
I expect us to be a top 5 team in the east next year.
We will have Sarr, Kyshawn, & Tre along with our pick as cornerstones. Bub, Will Riley & Jamir Watkins to support them. Kispert & Bilal are amazing trade pieces if they don't fit in with the group. Add in all the cap space & draft picks & we have ammo to go get whoever we need to fill in the rest.
The thing we need to do thou that no one is talking about is consolidate picks. We have 3 2nds this year & next year & a bunch of future swaps. If we could turn those into late 1st that would be amazing given Dawkins track record with picking late first rounders
Yeah, I was going to come on here to say something similar. I remember reading several months ago that making a trade to remove the protections would be very difficult and complicated since there are so many levels to it. I think it’s pretty much impossible.
The pick won't be in danger. We'll trade or buy out CJ and or Khris
Yes bro you’re up, put it all on red! Smh
They’d have to get up to 7th worst record to really worry about losing the pick altogether.
The 6th worst record has a 96.3% chance of being in the top 8. I don’t think they panic at that point. You’d essentially be giving up something for a 3.7% chance at the 9th pick in the draft. Like if the Wizards end up with the 9th pick something has either gone very right or very wrong.
