Have had some bad experiences with the private lots that shuttle you so want to do official JFK parking.
Looks like that’s Lot 9 Lefferts Blvd and airtrain to terminal 4.
Is there walking involved with this? I don’t mind walking but kids are 6 and 3 and it’ll be 5 in the morning so just want to know what I’m getting into…
Is this the easiest way to go? Seems ideal from both avoiding traffic purposes and just ease.
Thanks

Depends on how far away you park.
It’s pretty easy. The monorail will pick you up outside your terminal and you take it to long term parking. The LT lot is big, so some of it depends on where you park (and how many bags you have), but I have found it pretty simple. Plus: it’s far cheaper.
What do you hope anyone could tell you that you couldn’t see on Google Maps?
I mean, it’s fine. It’s right next to the Lefferts Blvd AirTrain station, and you already know how the AirTrain works, don’t you?
Touché. Google Maps good idea
Nope. No idea how it works. Have never used it before hence why I’m posting
I've done long term JFK parking several times. It's very easy to find the airtrain platform and get to the terminal you need. You do need to prepare for a lot of walking though. Chances are you'll need to park quite a ways from the airtrain. It's very walkable, just a walk nonetheless. Same with once you get to your terminal. Lot of walking, but doable. I'd much rather do this than rely on any of these shady parking lots.
Thank you for your detailed response. This is excellent info
