The increase in tariffs caused a significant amount of the oil and gas operation in Canada to eat shit. So now the U.S. needs another source of heavy sour crude.
Venezuela produces heavy sour crude and has the largest oil reserves in the world. Instead of negotiating a trade deal that benefited both countries, Trump is killing fishermen and is planning for increased military strikes within their country.
