Yeah I'm kind of disturbed by how bare the hills look right now both from a water-reservoir perspective as well as from a ski perspective. Hopefully we won't end up with another season with some weak base layers and then heaps of unstable stuff up top.
My father used to say that when you can't see the mountains in Vancouver, that means it's raining; if you can see the mountains, that means it's going to rain. lol
Head into the mountains or into the North Shore forests, and you'll enjoy it even more. It's just over the bridge. Check out Lynn Canyon or Capilano Canyon. It's a west coast experience that wont disappoint.
Edit: regular walking shoes and umbrella/rain jacket would suffice
When you live elsewhere in Canada, and you are dealing with -30, wind, slush, ice, dry air that makes your knuckles crack and bleed, a trip to Vancouver feels like a balmy vacation, with moisture in the air that heals the body.
Crazy that we're mid December and there's no snow on the North Shore mountains
It's not a good thing

What Lol are you forgetting about last year?
Last year wasn't this hard this early but it stuck around, we shall see what happens this year
Temp was also high today . I saw 16 degrees
Yeah it felt really warm.
You got a rare sunny December day! Usually at this time of year, those mountains are snowy, though 😒
Mountains aren't visible when it rains, and it rains a lot here

Nice shots, OP! Some nice lighting there too.
Very lucky to have a clear sky. Glad you got to see it.
Nice. Glad it worked out for you.
It was sunny and beautiful on Saturday

We suffer through months of overcast skies because once it breaks and you see the mountains, it was all worth it
Who visits in mid December, ha

Don’t know if getting soaked for a week is better
It was absolutely beautiful today! I’ve lived the majority of my life in those other types of places, and I find Vancouver to be winter on easy mode.
Well sure, if you move here from there, I’m sure you think it’s better.
