This is a long shot but I'll throw it out there anyway. I have space available for the winter for someone willing to take care of snow removal. Yes, we get a lot of snow but it's a great workout. :) it's a 2 bedroom apartment. I'll even pay for all utilities. I have a tenant next door who is elderly but still working. She works on-call and I just can't find anyone reliable for snow removal. My ex-husband stole my snowblower. It's $300/mo for plowing and they'll destroy the yard so I may as well spend that on utilities for someone willing to shovel and scoop in exchange for rent. (Utilities included) Plus maybe I can simultaneously help someone out of this cold for the winter.

I used to go to Central mine every winter. The Keweenaw is gorgeous, but it is pretty far from anything and in the winter it can be really hard just to even get groceries

Damn, I could do this however, I'd have to wait until January 5th to put things in motion. If you can wait until I can get myself released from probation I would love to move up there from Maryland. I get SSI and I would love to provide work for housing, and be able to save some money to get myself a car and back on my feet.

I'm 40, in recovery, and living out of hotels trying to keep myself in recovery because the only other place I've found I can afford to rent here are rooming houses that end up being more trap or crack houses than a place to live and that's why I'm homeless again after Getting off the street just back in April. However my recovery means more than having a room to live in and it was so chaotic there I never had reasonable quiet enjoyment of my space...
I get that struggling to keep a roof over my head at least.... Anyway if you send me a message hopefully we can work something out.
