Went to a flea market in Munich and stumbled upon this. It looked like a very interesting piece so I just bought it. It is very light and probably made of Aluminium rather than Brass.
This is a "shock worker of Communist labor pin" I see no reason why it would be fake as many such pins were made in the USSR. This one is likely from the 1970s. Worth between $10 and $20
"Udarnik" would indeed literally translate to something like a "hitter" or a "striker", "puncher" etc but the closest English terms would be "grafter" or a "slogger" (I think it's UK lingo) or a "workhorse" for Yanks but with a more "heroic" timbre, like a "work hero" or "superworker".
"Trud" is more like "effort" but also "labor" I suppose.
So what the pin wants to say is "The Labor Hero of the Communist Effort" or "The Work Hero of Communist Labor", along that line.
When the Soviet Union fell, many pins like this flooded into Western Europe and the U.S. They are easily found at flea markets and lesser antique shops. It is worth it if you like it.
This pin is $10 for a dozen. They were mass produced and not numbered. They also did not provide any additional privileges. Only in the court they could be an evidence of good character.

Talk about lost in translation.

10-20$? You don't collect such stuff do you? They are worth around 2$ on a good day
Do you give out stuff, or what would it take to get such stuff
Find flea markets around your area, if you leave in the eastern block countries, Soviet pins will be extremely easy to find and cheap
Top 2 worst times to be living in the US
Understandable
Ah thank you! I got a good deal then because it was 5 euros.
You overpaid a bit
The fake ones you can get for $2, the real ones are more expensive
Fake ones??? No one would even fake udarniks, you have no idea what you are talking about

Yup, this is genial

Do let me know if there is another subreddit I should post this to
r/redcollecting I think
Thank you comrade
Yes, i've got the same
I guess it's fake because I see no special stamp on back side.
There is, below the actual pin
If this were fake it would be better made.
