I have to assume Gina’s character is designed to be hated. If someone like that worked in my office, I would try to find another job, and/or do everything I could to avoid her or get her to move jobs.

Hell yeah. Chelsea is a great actor because I didn't like Gina. Just like Jenny Slate is amazing because I hated Mona-Lisa in Parks and recs and Jack Gleeson was phenomenal because I dream of ringing King Joffrey's neck.
She was fine for me the first time through, but her scenes are skipped in rewatching. Nothing against Chelsea Peretti, she's very talented, it's how she's written with no empathy or sympathy.

Technically almost all characters in the show are consistently beloved, except maybe the occassional villain.
But when there critisisms of the show thrown she (and Boyle) are usually the ones criticized the most and the hardest.
