Are they gonna be able to breathe like this? Tote with the minimal amount of tape to keep another tote on top. And then picture 2, all my other injection sites were taped smoothly, not that one, lmk if it’s a problem but I’d also like to know is it okay to have them standing up like that with injection site on the front of the bag?

  • I usually place them like that and it's fine, BUT I transfer colonized agar and they colonize from the top down.

I've never used LC but it should be fine, it's just recommended to place the bags lying down to favorize an even colonization since you're injecting in the middle, so I imagine colonization will go the other way around, from the bottom up.

But they look fine. Good luck.

Alright thanks. I got an aio bag and the second flush just isnt coming, even tho my first flush was so small, idk what’s going on with it so I got this stuff figured I’d try it from here this time. I’m sure I ruined that aio somehow.

Edit cuz the distinction may matter. . Rtf* aio bag

  • You really don’t need to store bags in a tub like that except for storage convenience. They need some air to exchange through the micropore tape so make sure you haven’t sealed these tubs tightly. Or just take the top one off, it’s fine.

Yeah I prep my grain myself with a PC then switch to ziplock tek after I see signs of growth an I either sterilize scissors or use a lighter/candle an sterilize my LC needle or a paper clip an burn holes through the zip lock on both sides after my grain is in then add paper tape an I just put them in my underwear bin pull it a tiny out so the paper tape is in the air more or some times I push it in but I never get contam an been doing it for months upon months now.. it doesn’t need to be in a tote at all.. ohhh an the paper tape isn’t for air when inoculating grain it’s just for gas exchange it’s a lil bit different

My house had dogs for 5 of the past 6 years. Over the past year ive done some cleaning but im not done. I did it this way and kept it up away from the floor to avoid dander and stuff.
