The Conservatives really stopped being 'conservative' after Heath. Thatcher didn't want to conserve, she liked to smash things up at least economically speaking. Reform is imo just the continuation of that radical right tradition that Thatcher brought into british politics.
Was there ever a line? Are there any high profile Reform people who aren't recent Tories? The only one I think you could give a pass to is Farage himself (I know he was a Tory as well but I think he's been out doing is own thing for long enough now).
Snapshot of Nadhim Zahawi defection shows the line between parties is blurring submitted by TimesandSundayTimes:

Conservative but rebranded and further to the right
Yes, Tories and Reform are the uniparty
Two cheeks of the same arse.
Unibuttocks, if you will.
I really hope that becomes OED's word of the year.
People should stop calling Reform racist and start calling them what they are; the "failed Tory, Tory party".
The line between the Tories and Reform is practically non-existent; they are the true uniparty. The line between Reform and Labour is very real.
Which is absurd (you're right but it's absurd) because the words "Conservative" and "Reform" have literally opposite meanings.

Disgraced tax avoider Nadhim Zaharia
Will fit right in.
If the poles reverse he will also reverse
He's a fart wafting in the breeze

No, it shoes that some politicians are so scummy any party will do.
Another very badly judged welcome from Reform. Nobody wants Zahawi back, least of all Reform voters who remember his role in the Johnson government.
It's not blurring. It's Tory (blue), and Tory lite (light blue).
There is no line between any of the main parties.
Allowing this defection will hurt Farage, Zahawi is a extremely pro immigration.
Zahawi will take what ever political opinion he needs to further his own ends. He has the principles of a sewer rat.
