  • • Councils, from Christmas 2025 are to get expanded enforcement powers against landlords. While the Renters Rights Act will only come into force in May 2026, it seems local authorities are getting an early start, which I think is positive.

    • If the usual suspects don’t keep delaying, the Employment rights bill may become law before the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

    • Lastly, there's a high likelihood the UK will successfully negotiate to rejoin the Erasmus scheme by 2027. Good news for young people and for a positive reset of UK-EU relations.
