I mean realistically from a scientific standpoint it's not dependant, bongs or rigs cool the smoke allowing it to flow into your lungs with less irritation making it a smoother smoke, pipes you're just bum rushing hot smoke into your lungs - preference does play a part obviously but he's right, snag at the very least a chambered pipe for home, your lungs will thank you.

I knew a guy in florida that owned a smoke shop and kept a box of extra pieces behind the counter. I took him 100 bucks and he gave them all to me. Took them back to college with me and made massive profit. The closest pipe shop was like 60 miles from us at the time.
I was told the black and blue cobalt colors cause the glass to be fragile. Mine was chunky but didn't last. That could be a different type of pigment that's not like the old ones. I haven't bought dark glass in 15 years so could be different now.
Purely aesthetic, though I did see you mention that it has the smoothest hit. It also looks more comfortable to handle and thats important in a pipe for me

A small sherlock bubbler can have really small bowls you could probably finish.
