Hello snarkers!

Today is the day; Parts 5 and 6 of the 6-part docuseries: "The End of An Era" are releasing.

Here is a preview for Parts 5 and 6. The release date was suddenly changed from December 26th to December 23rd for some reason.

The docuseries follows the backstage shenanigans... umm, I mean the production of the Eras Tour. So far we have seen a lot of BDT, tooting of one's own horn, fake tears, and more BDT.

In case you are behind, here are the links for the previous mega-threads:

  • Mega-thread for Part 1 and 2 can be found here.
  • Mega-thread for Part 3 and 4 can be found here.

Come one, come all! This is the place to discuss (snark on) Parts 3 and 3 and the Concert Film!

Start Time: 3am EST / 2am CST / 12am PST

Where to Watch: Disney+

Happy Holidays and happy snarking!

Has this docuseries lived up to your (low) expectations?

  • and the way they put HIS name first HAHAHAHA

That is honesty so damn sad. Really feels like pandering to MAGA tradwives. The man has to come first

    It’s not even alphabetical!

Bro no way lol was that really the ending slide? That happened 8 or 9 months after the tour ended, what does that have to do with the tour? This series really was a Travis ad lol

Selling the brand of Taylor Swift.

The brand of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ™️

I still don’t believe she is hitching her wagon to him for real. Feels like a big joke.

I think she's just going through the motions and doing what her parents tell her to. Joe breaking up with her destroyed her entire identity and sense of self worth. She became another person for those 6 years and I think she really liked that person, but without him she feels she can't "be" her anymore.

Yeah I can see this too. I just don’t know how she doesn’t put her foot down. She’s gonna be finding her true self in her 40s (which isn’t horrible but very behind. She will have insane resentment and anger IF the parents thing is really true.)

The last slide was actually about TLOAS being her best selling album to date. The whole thing was fucking gross. Christ half of this documentary was centered around Travis.

What the fuck?! What's extra crazy is the fact the doc was probably done so somebody had to go back in and add this

Nooooooo! I’m cringing so bad 😭who does that?? 😆this doc was made for her middle school fans bc they are her core fan group at this point I think

this is so embarrassing holy shit

she already shoehorned Travis in so much but this is just insane to me. It’s a doc about her tour and the people who made it happen why would they tack that on at the end 😭

especially since engagements don’t mean shit.

My friend said it looks like those endings of true crime documentary. Like “On June 10, 1952 John Doe died in prison”. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since

    Is this for real?? 🤮

In 2-3 years she will try to scrub this entire thing from public memory. It's so embarrassing and everyone seems to know except for her and her vapid parasite mother.

'and Taylor got married to the love of her life and they all lived happily ever after. THE END.'

Fuck me, I'm about to projectile vomit like the girl from The Exorcist just seeing this.

  • Andrea is doing too much. Her vibe is off.

  • I’ve watched 15 minutes of it. Why is her mother the only person being interviewed? Taylor is 36. Doesn’t anyone else know her?

    where is jack btw?

I think they had a friendship breakup when Taylor switched producers and let him take the blame for Tortured Poets sucking.

It really seemed like she was on his last nerve at the last Grammys when she kept hitting him/pushing him/giving him a noogie while he was being recognized as producer of the year.

(Edit that I just realized that was the 2024 Grammys where she announced TTPD, not after. By the end of TTPD Jack must've been so done.)

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving shitgibbon.

No one else can stand her

This. Being 36 and having your parents hover over and around you is weird.

It’s so weird. I lost my parents at a young age (22 and 26) and I can understand wanting to have a good relationship with your parents but it seems as though Taylor’s parents are way more involved and invested in her brand than I ever realized. Her dad had a major heart surgery with major blockages. Andrea had cancer at some point. They are getting older. It’s almost like she still needs mom and dad around or she can’t function. It’s weird and sad at the same time. It’s like they are caring for her like she’s still a teen. And they are making decisions she should be able to make on her own. Are they still going to be touring around once she’s 40? I’m not sure if anyone else in the industry has the same situation?

The only example I can think of is Britney Spears and that’s uhhh not a great example. It’s a lot of arrested development and it makes me think of that saying that you become frozen at the maturity age that you were when you became famous. Look at Michael Jackson.

Her Mom is annoying af, it’s not even like she has employee vibes, she has straight up overbearing Mom vibes. It seems like she just hangs around and comments on things that she doesn’t understand. If i was the PR person i would be annoyed that this bumpkin is influencing too much.

The scene where Taylor is playing a new song about her breakups and her Mom chimes in and says it’s about “your boyfriend Travis” and Taylor freaks the f out was so funny. That did not seem like a 1 off, it seemed like she really was annoyed by the commentary and her mom fawning over Travis, and also having to hear about Travis who she reluctantly has to date

Her mother is insufferable now I know where Taylor gets it from

Also orphaned in my early 20s and it really is eye opening to see people in their 20s and 30s who still have their entire life based on their parents decisions and approval. I don’t know if Taylor has expressed any resentment towards her parents but I know it does really build when you are an adult whose main motivation is making enough money for them.

This is what I was wondering with the first episodes too! Why the hell is her mother constantly around her and everywhere where she is? It feels like they spend every single day together. Even if your mother is somehow 'your best friend' (I don't think that's healthy generally, but oh well), don't you still need time away from her and spend time with friends, alone or even with her brother I guess? I get the strong vibe that her mother is micromanaging her and/or Taylor is extremely dependent on her (probably both tbh).

After watching this documentary series it’s evident that Andrea is around her way too often and TS is needy AF. Yes people should want to spend time with their parents especially if they are getting older. But I see this as co-dependency on steroids.

Andrea is living through her vicariously. That's why she was so controlling over Taylor's body image and gushes over Travis. She wanted to be the jock's girlfriend and nobody will convince me otherwise. Even Scott was annoyed by it (the infamous email) but goes along with it because his daughter is his biggest cash cow.

Even Scott was annoyed by it (the infamous email) but goes along with it because his daughter is his biggest cash cow.

    Oohh which one is this??

Anyone who hasn't read the Scott Swift email needs to go and do that today. We got a lot of former swifties joining every day, if that's you, you need to read this ⬆️

    for real

"You're so much your old self again" they told her after she's back in their clutches and under their sole influence with their hand-picked (and probably coached) boyfriend

Her mom speaking so much semi-proves the rumors of her parents still having a big part in her career. Coming down to attending every “Eras” stop and Chiefs game. I understand a parent speaking a few times here and there. But this is just “momma glazing her daughter” non-stop. I haven’t watched the actual doc but am curious why Scott hasn’t spoken at all. Taylor is his product and business success.

It's no wonder Taylor is so thin-skinned. Her mother never lets her breathe and constantly praises everything she says and does and encourages everyone else to join in. Her parents instantly swoop in and "save" her from anything bad that happens (which we saw in Miss Americana when her controlling, paranoid dad forbid her from voicing her political opinions for fear of being "attacked" by some presumed terrorist).

Taylor never got a chance to become her own person, fully run her own career (her parents STILL DO IT FOR HER WTFFFFF), face typical hardships (being broke/having a shitty 9-5 normie job), or even develop her own opinions, ideas, and, most importantly, GET REAL CRITIQUE AND FEEDBACK.

Most kids with parents like this experience real critique/feedback from a good coach, teacher, professor, etc. but Taylor never got away from her family long enough to hear anything constructive or sit with the discomfort of not being the most amazing special person in the room. She never had to apply to elite colleges or competitive jobs and face real rejection, or realize she's a small fish in a big pond of talent. She was never fired, never truly fucked anything up...nothing. No wonder the "she can't sing" feedback from *one* music critic riled her up enough to write a whole song about it. Anyone with formal arts training would be able to let that roll off their back, even if it did sting, because they'd probably heard worse (though said differently, of course) from trainers, teachers, etc. and learned how to metabolize it and regulate around it. No wonder the Kimye thing made her spiral so fucking hard (and we know her mother only egged her on saying she wished Kim would die....oof).

Also, in the Miss Americana doc, when she was on the phone with Tree I believe who told her Reputation wasn't nominated for any Grammy and Taylor was so crushed and said to herself "I just have to make a better record", Tree or whoever IMMEDIATELY said "WELL REPUTATION IS A GREAT RECORD." Like okay, on one hand that is the supportive thing you tend to say, but on the other, Taylor probably aches on some level for someone to be like "Hey, that wasn't your best record and it's okay." And now we have The Life of a Showgirl, made by Shellback and Max Martin at their most phoned in and checked out, which is she CONVINCED is the best thing she's ever made because NO ONE EVER TOLD HER NO.

God damn, her parents are fucking awful. They sheltered and controlled her to the point where she can't really function in the world.

Her parents are def a huge part of the problem. The irony is in 2012 at a VH1 Storytellers concert, she even said “my parents aren’t one of those stage parents like ‘get up on that stage, you’re gonna be a star.’” YET—that’s almost exactly what it seems to be.

On paper she was likeable. Even when she started out. She became more and more of a product the more famous she got. I always wonder what she would’ve been like had her parents let go of that control.

  • Please tell me I did not hear her say she's been holding her breath so no harm would come to the tour.? A fan fucking died and she did not acknowledge it at all in this fucking documentary. Ana deserved more. I'm actually seething on the inside after hearing that.

Wow, she really didn’t mention Ana during the last two episodes??? Insane. Those 3 little girls in Southport got a big mention and that was only tangibly related to her, can’t believe she didn’t give Ana’s story any airtime - not even to make it all about herself which I assumed she would. How scummy.

She never uttered a single word about her. I don't want to ever hear anybody tell me Taylor Swift is a good person again. She's a greedy billionaire who doesn't give a fuck about her fans or anybody else for that matter. The only person Taylor cares about is herself.

It’s probably because there was zero focus on any of the tour prior to the last Europe show. The doc is almost entirely about the last North America leg. But she should have still mentioned it when they talked about the other sad events that happened

I hope her family calls her out but also they probably got PAIDDDDDD to never speak of this publicly again.

Why am i saying probably, of course they did

  • Her playing guitar and watching the Chiefs game, saying “I can prioritize both” and interjecting randomly during the game (“Get this first down” while strumming the guitar, stopping mid song to shout, “That was pass interference! Did they get a flag?”). She wants so badly for people to think she’s a multitasker and that she caught onto football so quickly.

    🙄

Welp, doesn't matter much now that her man is getting ready to retire. Both Travis and his team had an expiration date on greatness, but apparently Taylor really thought the Chiefs were going to make it to the SB again and Travis was going to keep playing football and giving her this WAG life she clearly adored.

I've said this before, but I find that really funny given Taylor has previously expressed anxiety over "aging out" of pop stardom. Did she really think men don't go through the same thing? Especially men who play a sport that's really hard on the body?

  • I found it disgusting in the beginning when Taylor was full out coughing by the coffee station without covering her mouth

Noooo it's so cute and quirky to cough like a toddler!!1! She's such a wittle 36 year old baby!!1!🙄

Again? What’s with her and lacking manners/hygiene/respect for others?

I was still a Swiftie when I saw the clip of Gracie Abrams and Taylor in Taylor’s NYC apartment and I could not believe she took off her clodhopper shoes, that she had been walking around the streets of NYC in, on her kitchen counter, like wtf? Who puts shoes on the kitchen counter?!

Obviously she doesn’t cook or clean for herself (and I doubt she makes sourdough, by the way, because why would you have your dirty shoe soles on the same counter you kneed dough? and I also doubt it, by the way, because she talked about frantically wrapping her freshly made sourdough in saran wrap/plastic film wrap…because anyone who bakes sourdough knows that you don’t wrap it in plastic, you put it in a bread bag made out of cotton or paper, so it doesn’t sweat and can ‘breath’ or at least a lose plastic bag, not wrap it in cling film… but I digress… obviously she’s not cleaning and cooking in the kitchen but putting your shoes on the counter? Like wouldn’t you know that was gross? Even if you were a billionaire?

Not even the bathroom vanity counter? (I could maybe understand that) or a coffee table? but the kitchen counter!! Ewwwwww

And she even said “our purses are ruined ( their bags in counter makes sense because they don’t touch the sidewalk and all the grime and dog, and potentially human shit, and vomit and garbage and sewer rat residue you walk through in NY )… and my shoes’, like it’s a just a normal thing to have shoes there. It’s just so dirty and gross.

It really shocked and perplexed me. Like why?

    https://preview.redd.it/lhxlsow1ky8g1.jpeg?width=1095&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eeb5217a018d65c504b2defec288057eae9c2731

Maybe counter shoes are the culprit for her purported food poisoning on tour. If only we could blame them for the food poisoning-level album.

Before, I thought "food poisoning" was code for "hangovers." But now that I've seen her hygiene (or lack of it), maybe she really was making herself sick over and over again.

    As an Asian person...

    wait what?

And is like I have a cold and gives Gracie a full hug.

In the same episode where they talked about how she didn't meet fans before the show because of COVID. (But she met prince William and his family)

And Taylor is never seen wearing a mask while Amanda and others are.

The source of her variants. 🙄

I need to see a clip of this. Lol.

  • I’m halfway through the series and I feel kinda depressed knowing I was so head over heels with this woman and who is she now and what she really stands for. Growing up with Taylor and seeing how she has turned into a weirdo is just too much..also there seems to be no depth into her during this documentary unlike in previous ones

She's always been like this. Literally since day one.

  • finishing this, i came to one conclusion:

this could’ve been 2 parts, 90 minutes each (that’s being generous). cut out all the filler and taylor circle jerking, it could’ve been a solid documentary. where were the logistics!? i wanna hear more from the truck drivers, ppl behind the scenes, etc. too much taylor & andrea, not enough everybody else.

  • Honestly, I literally can’t bear to hear her grating voice or watch a second of this PR video during my sacred Christmastime. So I’m just here to live vicariously through everyone’s comments.

Same. Everyone who is taking the bullet and watching this for us, we salute you.

I’m on maternity leave so I said why not watch it but damn it’s boring AF. Even my 4 month old isn’t interested. Such a bland fluff piece. They really just expect any fan to eat it up so they don’t even care to try anymore.

It also made me realize how overbearing her parents are, like what 36 year olds parents are this involved in their profession?

    Salute accepted.

    (Takes a deep dramatic bow)

yepp and I love watching the worst clips that people post here too like the one with Florence where she’s absolutely killing her vocals so effortlessly and then Taylor is just standing there 😭

She was absolutely seething that Florence upstaged her in rehearsals without even trying, lmfao.

I mean idk, just an alternative perspective, but I think Taylor thinks a lot of herself. I honestly feel like she sees herself as equal or better than most other female artists. I don’t believe she would include a clip in her own documentary of her being upstaged. While it’s very clear to us that Florence’s talent exceeds Taylor’s, I don’t think it’s clear to Taylor lol.

Normally I would agree. Taylor greatly overestimates her own abilities. And in an interview during the rollout of Showgirl, she said she and Martin/Shellback are "equals" now.

However, in that scene in the documentary, Taylor practically stomped off set after Florence sang lol

This. She shot daggers at Florence every time she opened her mouth like "how dare you," and she was definitely not pleased that the choreographer said "What a treat" to hearing Florence's vocals during rehearsals. Blandie absolutely knew.

Same. I also don’t want to give her views lol

  • [removed]

I’m sorry, but there is no way he would use the word “mesmerize.”

he might use it but he def cant spell it

I don't believe that Travis even wrote that letter.

He probably put it into ChatGPT. oMg, they have something else in common! 🤭

    Well, that’s blatant fanfic.

Squirle didn’t write that. The vast majority of humans who aren’t script writers for Hallmark movies wouldn’t write that.

ETA: Now I wonder how often Taylor’s team writes fanfic for her.

Yeah nah he didn’t write that. It reads like something from wattpad too.

He already said some shit like this in the podcast. Do they even know how to communicate without the script?!

This is what creeps me out about Taylor & Co.

They have, like, 4 talking points they all stick to in every single interview and interaction. The fans and audience never really learn anything new about her, them, or anyone.

    It's bizarre.

What's selfish about saying thank you? And "the beginning of me meeting the love of my life?" I absolutely believe these are his words. They make no sense. 🤪

There's nothing "🥹" about that letter.

  • I just realized that the whole oh Taylor doesn't talk before or after her concerts because she's saving her voice is a total fucking lie. She wouldn't be talking if that was the case because many of these fucking episodes were found backstage on the fucking tour. Jesus Christ Travis and Taylor's PR relationship is a disaster as far as trying to keep the narrative intact😭😭😭

Edit not to mention she recorded two albums on tour. Bitch was using her voice all the fucking time because she doesn't really sing😂😂😂

Edit 2 I hate that I'm being forced to watch a Taylor Swift mini concert. Now I realize I'm putting myself through this but I had no fucking idea they were going to show so much of her singing backstage off key (which again means she never had to save her voice for concerts). She's also showing way more of the actual show than I thought. I also feel like everyone on her team is one of her yes men. In many ways it feels like this documentary is existing to once again, show what a wonderful person Taylor is 🙄. It feels really icky.

Yep he lied about that on the podcast which made me side eye the whole bracelet story since the beginning

If there was a bracelet we would have fucking seen it. So many lies upon lies upon lies...

Plus the way Andrea said “he bought you something from your world” and was all googly heart eyes for him 😍😍😍 like it was some amazing romantic gesture, and maybe it would have been, if he wasn’t, as he described “butthurt”and chucked it in the trash.

All that shows me, is he has poor emotional regulation and didn’t actually care about her.

“he bought you something from your world”

The fuck does that even mean

Yep. Andrea really wanted to make sure that everybody thought he loved her so much he brought her a bracelet even though Taylor herself said she's never seen a fucking bracelet . Like they should have had a script that they could run with that they weren't going to get caught in multiple lies about all this shit. It's so funny how Taylor is actively trying to spin it as they're almost the same person and because they both do things in packed stadiums. So rhey relate to each other because he puts his life on the line and she puts her heart on the line in front of a huge crowd of people😭😭😭. Babe that's not a flex because it's all fucking performative. None of it feels real or organic because it clearly isn't. I don't think there was ever a bracelet and if there was, Travis is totally the type of guy that would be like well fuck her and like you said just toss it in the trash. I would never date somebody or recommend my daughter date somebody who whines about being butt hurt, screams at his coach, and supports predators he considers friends. It's no wonder that Gaylors are so upset at this relationship because to them this is performance art on another level. I kind of feel bad for them lol.

  • This whole docuseries truly could’ve been an email 💀. It was just relationship PR. Like we get it Taylor. You like football & Travis. Ending it announcing they got engaged is hilarious. Like yes, congratulations. Why don’t you add in how your BELOVED CHIEFS got curb stomped in the Super Bowl that year too lmao

  • Andrea: "...and that was my mother, Marjorie"

clip plays of Marjorie singing opera before jump cutting to Taylor lipsynching on the Eras Tour

  • why is she coughing on the coffees?? has no one told her to cover her mouth at this point?

  • I saw a few clips floating around and the performative nonsense with Travis is legitimately hilarious and shows how susceptible Swifties are to propaganda. Pretending you watch football before your show. Reading a “letter”from him that is directly from fan fiction posts and talking points you have already used. Tay-Tay and Mommie Dearest really went all in on making the Eras tour all about Travvy. How sad that a 36-year-old billionaire’s only legacy is finally getting engaged. And it’s the only thing her parents seem truly proud of and excited about. What a monument to the mediocrity of white privilege.

Edit: Tay-Tay really put her engagement in the final crawl of the doc along with buying her masters and releasing TLOAS. Like it’s an accomplishment. Truly pathetic.

LOL for real? Something like "the Eras tour eventually grossed such and such performing for such and such number of people. On day X Taylor successfully bought her masters. On day Y she and Travis got engaged"? Really???

That's incredibly sad tbh. I hope in another world that she is appreciated for the person she is, that fame and money don't have a grip on her, that she knows she is enough

Even toddlers know actions have consequences. She made herself into a brand because she was desperate for money and power. It may be sad but she’s the product of her own making.

  • I am laughing at work because Joe Alwyn walking Hampstead with his therapist mother is making more buzz than this show.

If Taylor was any smidge of authentic in this docuseries, which really is only for changing narratives and creating perceptions for her brand and PR, then we would probably have nicer things to say about it.

This is like a glamorized version of showgirl or like camping but it is more glamping because you can't show that there are bugs outside or that your hair gets messed up in the wind. Same with the showgirl. Can't show busted feet or actual vulnerability beyond scripted.

I feel like there is way less buzz around TS overall now. Oversaturation.

  • I haven’t watched but it sounds like from all these comments that… nothing really happened in this documentary.

These last two were for sure the most boring.

  • i dont wanna be mean. but as a singer.... man, those clips of taylor singing are not doing her any favours. with peace and love i think she maybe should film some episodes with a vocal coach.

  • I think I'll continue to spend my time on better things, like trimming my nose hairs.

Now you mention it, I think mine could do with a trim too...

  • is it just my algorithm (which I tried to change for months by always clicking the “not interested/show fewer posts like this” but it never worked) or does no one even really care about the documentary? I haven’t seen a lot of stuff about her since tloas (and it’s great)

Right now, everyone is talking about Heated Rivalry and the final season of Stranger Things. I think the only people watching and talking about this show are us and the Swifties.

She's so over and not even because of something scandalous or dramatic, she's just boring 😭

I don't see it on any other social media site even with some people who I know are Swifties. The documentary is self-serving and didn't do it's job to change the perception of the general public and has drawn more criticism from her fans..

I really hope the ratings are released. I would bet the first episode was big and then fell off more after each one.

  • OT but I’m also shocked she never put anything about her re-records in here. Would’ve been a nice layer to the collective nature of the tour, and the fact that she was actively releasing and re-recording during the run of the tour. And I’m sure even former fans like myself would’ve enjoyed seeing that. Instead we get episode after episode of people talking about how wonderful of a person she is.

I’m gonna take a guess that since she got her masters back in May, it was smarter to stay quiet about the re-records since many people got pissed about how she strung them along for “rep (TV).” IDK.

great point, and more evidence that while a lot of footage was collected during the tour they actually assembled and edited it into the final product this year, highlighting specifically what version of Taylor Swift they wanted to sell. She was the producer of this and had absolute control. It is a commercial, not a documentary.

  • I hate the way they talk about Taylor's career as a family business. It's so gross. But I mean she flat out said she wouldn't have been able to do this if her parents didn't want it for her.

People (her fans) will say her dad’s money helped but it was her talent that kept her going. Maybe her talent of monetization.

I think she once said she would have gone into marketing if she chose a traditional career and that makes a lot of sense.

I could see how she would have gone into marketing just watching this thing. She's definitely got a gift of self-promotion. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. However the ego that comes with it is so uncomfortable for me to watch. Like I can feel her narcissism through the screen.

She’d probably be that one coworker no one likes but who could never be called out.

It's crazy how some people think she's this friendly likable person because I don't see that at all it all feels like manipulation to me. I find her to be extremely unlikable.

It’s strangely fascinating to me. I actually had a coworker like that, who by all appearances is nice but does a lot of shady acts that seem strange, though you aren’t quite sure if it’s you or not. Like only commented when you make a mistake, but it’s a “nice” comment. Or only calling you to chat when she needs something, so she asks about you just to say she asked if she’s called out.

She moved on to another coworker who is slightly more susceptible, though was beginning to have doubts. I just said “pay attention to xyz patterns” and a little while later, I get a message, “Everything you said, she did!”

Somehow they are just good at hiding it because they act very kind and sweet, always smile, never rock the boat out loud. Incredibly manipulative behind closed doors.

It's covert narcissism. And I mean she told on herself when she sang the line in antihero. That's what they are like. They hide in plain sight behind a nice comment about your mistake. They're never overtly mean but you still feel that underlying tension around someone like her.

Yes, if he didn't successfully purchase her music career, he absolutely was getting her a job in his office.

  • I watched it so y'all don't have to! Episode 5 is 30 minutes of her mom acting like the main character and talking about her own life, but has some nice moments about a few of the dancers. Video montage of fans covering her songs better than she does. Staged moment of her watching football. Martin and Shellback devising Foley/production sounds while Taylor steamrolls over them with terrible lyrics. Taylor also doesn't know how to cover her mouth when she coughs.

Episode 6 has an incredibly bizarre staged moment of her playing music while watching Chiefs™️ football at the same time. Scott Swift jumpscare. Way too much glazing throughout of how great she is and what an accomplishment, yada yada. Nice little homage to the dancers and videotapes from when they were younger. Ends on a lame note of a "Where are they now" with several marketing notes for her brand. (Would have been much cooler if they had tied in the dancers and crew who had prominent speaking roles throughout)

I do love the crew and wish that their inclusions in the whole "doc" didn't feel like calculated moves to showcase how amazing and inclusive Swift is. Other than the crew, the whole series is just an inauthentic ego trip that also happens to address bad PR from the last few years. It's incredibly transparent. Most important of all, I'm disgusted that Ana Benevides wasn't acknowledged at all. Even if she refused to talk about it, an "in memory of" screen at the end of one of the episodes should have been the bare minimum, but no, she's too concerned about people looking up the truth of circumstances surrounding her death.

  • Does anybody else think that comment from Andrea about Travis being "big as Texas" was super weird

I’ve had a weird vibe that Andrea vicariously fantasizes about dating Travis through Taylor, much like her whole career

oh 100% I think she has a crush on him

Ew I hate the fetishization of his body size. It’s not sexy. He doesn’t even look strong and cut or even cuddly and soft, he’s just… large. Ugh. Lenny from Of Mice and Men lookin’ ass.

He is one of the most repulsive people alive

That’s why they will get married and it’ll probably end horribly because her mother is pushing everything. It’s creepy as fuck

  • I have not watched the show but I did just read the People.com article about the letter that Travis wrote to her before her last few shows. I definitely don't buy that Travis would do such a thing and it makes me even more cynical about their relationship than I already am. I don't understand why she wants to make him such a big part of this documentary when the emphasis should be on herself and the music.

No way did he write that lmao

  • No mention of Brazil or Ana Benevides. When she said she wouldn't talk about that tragedy, that sour blonde wasn't kidding.

  • Sooo funny all the chiefs features just for them to be embarrassingly bad by the time this aired 😬

  • How completely boring. Could have been 90 minutes and that’s generous. All it was was her and her Mom hanging in their greenroom on those dumb couches, drinking Kerig with Coffeemate. Or her getting into a car. Even the celeb scenes were boring as sin. Just over and over saying how special the tour was/how lucky we were to experience it.

Makes tour life seem like a drip. Just hanging with your family at all times, where is the fun? I know it’s Disney but were there any moments of her going out with the dancers and blowing off steam? No wonder she gets so wasted and manic at award shows, that entire tour felt like attending mass

  • Gracie Abrams, who is a Nepo baby and already rich:

“I remember my friends saying, ‘Would you rather have ten trillion dollars or write a song with Taylor Swift?’”

Gracie: “Write a song with Taylor Swift.”

    😐

That’s why they said ten trillion dollars instead of a million. “A million? Why am I losing money here? What kind of stupid game is this?!?”

I think she meant her ghostwriters…

  • “texas-size ribs for a texas-size man.”

isn’t travis from ohio? (literally 20 min away from me) isn’t kansas city in missouri?

Oh God, ick…did Andrea say that? She’s from Texas. 😂

  • If I have to see one more group circle before a show in this doc I'm gonna lose it

  • So..

I conclusion a very self-serving documentary with sprinkles of narcissism because look at me, glaze me, big tour, money, TLOASG big

  • Finally done with this god aweful docu. I make it a point to watch this stuff so I can have an informed opinion so... here's my thoughts. This was all designed to create 3 core perceptions to counter a narrative she lost control of.

    1. She is respected among her peers as a singer and a performer. Most of this docu was just her showcasing her guests as they build a Mashup of their songs. Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, Florence, Her Grandma Marj, and Gracie Abarms. This was to compare her as an equal in some cases or as their betters.

    2. She wants to reinforce that she's not a racist or a bigot. She focused so much on POC, Queer performers and fans.

    3. She's a generous billionaire. The emotional appeals (that ignore the Brazil incident), the bonuses, the fan inclusion. Shots of her bringing cute kids on stage and giving them a hat.

I think this whole thing fell pretty flat because the focus was never consistent. The episodic nature usually implies we're going to get different focuses (The mechanics of putting on this show, the performers, the fans, Taylor herself). But it was just half an hour of her singing either from Disney Eras tour film clips or back stage mash up practice. The other half was using her incredibly talented crew as tokens for telling us how kind and brilliant and not racist she is.

Also getting her to gush about walking around in her Louis Vuttons after writing a song like Wi$h List is crazy.

  • My thoughts as I watch episode 5:

    - Girl, please cover your mouth when you cough, especially when you're sick. Like the camera crew don't want your cold.

    - Her family making her being a star their whole life/ a business...yeah we knew. Poor Austin had to dedicate his childhood to his parents' pet project aka his sister the Golden Child. I'm not going to speculate or blame THIS or them directly, but I'm also not totally surprised he dealt with serious mental health issues/depression/suicidal ideation. Poor guy.

    - Why is her mom ALWAYS FUCKING THERE? Always lingering somewhere in the background making little comments and observations? It's so creepy. I'd be so irritated all the time and I love and am very close with my mother. I'd be like "Okay Mom, see you later!" LIKE GO AWAY LADY. Get some friends your own age. Manager or not, this is WEIRD. They are so co-dependent/enmeshed.

    - "How did she mastermind that?" during the Gracie segment. um, it's a basic medley. I hate that they basically make everyone over-hype and glaze what a genius she is for making pretty basic decisions. If people did that to me I'd be like please stop. You can see it too with the way her mom talks about her like she's the second coming of Jesus Christ. Yes, it's great she's supportive, but it's also clear Andrea lives vicariously through her daughter and over-sells her talent/ability to a really bizarre degree. She also seems to make sure EVERYONE ELSE does the same so Taylor never gets real feedback/critique, which is probably why she is so thin-skinned and why any criticism would send her into a spiral (and still does).

    - Why does her hair always look so BAD? The bangs, the frizz...Jesus.

    - It's becoming increasingly clear though that Andrea tried to "recreate" her mother through Taylor and it's super odd. Her relationship with Marjorie also sounds kinda weird. Who quizzes/questions an 8-year-old about operatic technique? And my theory makes sense for the timeline, since I believe she was around 12 is when Marj died, and that seems to line up with when they started REALLY pushing this all on Taylor. It's just becoming even creepier and clearer to me after this episode in particular that Taylor was groomed to be a star and really given no other choice.

Spot on! I love my mom, and I share things with her, but I can't imagine her lingering around me like that all the time, let alone meddle in my work and relationships. Andrea saw the high life through her Mom and couldn't live that herself. So she heavily projected her unfulfilled aspirations onto Taylor and is now absolutely living vicariously through Taylor. There is no doubt about that. She's a stage mom through and through. A part of me is so envious that this family has had so much generational wealth, and the riches they have connivingly accumulated now through their extremely mediocre daughter will last them for generations. Also, her Mom and people on her payroll are the only people in the documentary that are interacting with her, and ofc they are all glazing her so hard.

Yup, she even admits it: "I don't have a creative bone in my body" (which is likely untrue, everyone has some degree of creativity, but you can tell she was frustrated she was never as talented as her mother so immediately latched on to her daughter when she saw even a HINT of talent in her).

And I also think while Taylor genuinely enjoys music and songwriting, as a child she learned to associate it with praise/her mother's approval. She talked a lot about wanting to be a "good girl" and people pleaser from a young age in Miss Americana, and that was so telling to me that she always felt the need to perform and be "good" on some level for her mother. That continues to this day with her relentless desire to be the best in music (or at least perceived that way).

They may have wealth, but they have deep dysfunction and, like the Roy family in Succession, will never be "real" people, you know?

  • Why do I feel like you could use this series to teach a class on how to recognise the language of propaganda? Not that anybody's going to actually study.

  • [deleted]

    Her parents are divorced!!

  • I watched the part where she was rehearsing with Florence and the difference between them was night and day. Florence sings with such ease( as one does when one actually possesses talent), her vocals were clear and crisp and lilting. TS on the other hand was mouth breathing her vocals and it was frankly embarrassing to watch.

  • I don't know why she didnt take the opportunity to pull a Katy Perry in this docu. Katy was divorced right before performing to her biggest crowd. For Tater, her longest relationship ended right before she embarked on her biggest tour.

If she showed her own mental breakdown, her fans would've ate that up. It would've also been the perfect theme for tloas: your whole world just ended, but you still need to put on that costume and a fake smile.

Can't have anything that even remotely hints to having had feelings for previous exes, lest people think that Travis isn't legitimate 🙄

This is what irritates me, everything is an act. When she wants to stick it to her exes, she’s sooooo happy and going on pap walks and flaunting her new man. When she wants pity and to be the victim, she’s sooooo sad and heartbroken and will never get over it. I genuinely don’t even know what’s real by now and that’s the point.

Honestly, whatever shit Katy Perry does, I will always hold a soft spot for her for that moment in her documentary. It’s devastating.

That moment has recently gone viral again. Ppl love that kind of shit. Even if she's making all the wrong decisions in her music career, but she's still an expert on how to popstar.

Tater is probably frustrated she is now dating Justin T. Bcs her engagement should've been the only big news this year, but then here comes Katy with her world-famous politician bf.

I suspect after the Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs, Taylor's team started asking around for single politicians lol

She cheated on Joe and she’s a bad actress, no way they could pull that off.

  • Taylor Wishes she could hit the notes Marjorie does 😂

  • So cringe how she was talking about being sad her grandmother wasn't able to see the eras tour, but talked about how mom, dad and travis are able to see it. His name just felt shoehorned in lmao

So she mentioned Travis, but not her brother?

Reminds me of that Onion article "Taylor Swifts suddenly remembers she has a brother" 😄

  • So she never mentioned Ana in this documentary. We shouldn't be shocked since her and her team tried to bury this story when the news came out

Again, I hope some video essays or youtuber would bring this up again and discuss the deeper lore behind this

  • So I have seen most of the scenes on TikTok and from what I can tell, it‘s a bad documentary. It could have been a great tour documentary about the biggest tour of her career, but she failed it. I usually love tour documentaries because the planning, logistics and behind the scenes are interesting to me. I would have loved to watch that, even if I don’t like her anymore. However, her documentary shouldn’t be even called a tour documentary. It‘s basically a documentary and PR puff piece about her relationship. It’s weird that her mother is the main person who is being interviewed. The moments where they interviewed the dancers or other crew members were far more interesting, but it was pretty clear that they only added them to show how good of a person and great boss Taylor supposedly is. Why are there multiple scenes of her watching football? What does that have to do with the tour at all? It‘s ridiculous. I genuinely can’t believe her team watched this and thought it was a good idea to release it. Imagine making a documentary about your biggest and most successful achievement of your career almost entirely about a man.

  • A brazilian post got viral saying that Taylor could at least put "In Memoriam" something like this for Ana in the final of the docuseries. Swifties start to replying saying that the family wants privacy and bla bla bla. But someone from Ana's family made a post on Instagram saying that her team never tried to contact them for this. So the problem its not privacy, its the lack of interest from Taylor. She simple does not care. 🤢

Yup, that's it. She simply doesn't care. I'll never forget how it was up to the fans to raise money for Ana's body to be returned home, her team couldn't even have the decency of helping with that, which was the bare minimum

  • "Once I get a cold, I just have it for a while. They just kind of linger."

Yeah, Taylor... that's kinda how colds work.....

I'm barely a minute into ep 5 and I've had enough.

This line was 100% to cover for the awful rasp her voice has during most of the backstage stuff.

  • Man oh Man! How much more are we going to have to listen about "love of my life." Get on with it already. We know you are getting married to the "love of your life." And what is this crap about Andrea cooking dinosaur bones for Travis. Why is everything Andrea says is about BDT. I do not recall one picture of them hugging, or even interacting. They are really pushing this narrative hard. Why don't Swift/Kelce take a page out of Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld relationship and let actions speak louder than words.

  • I feel like a ton of the tour was filmed (given we saw alot of rehearsals) i NEED the Matty footage of him reluctantly hanging out on the green room couch with her Mom and hearing her and her Mom go on and on about how important and special the tour is lol

  • So Taylor left the stage after the final concert of the Eras Tour, and the very first thing her dad said to her was not, "Congratulations," or, "How are you feeling," or anything like that. No, the very first thing out of his mouth was, "The Chiefs won!"

Scott is definitely pissed about the Chiefs sucking this season lol. I bet he's going to be the one to call off the wedding.

  • when she said "i flew to sweden after each show" or smth along those lines i was like girl what💀 what in the privileged is this shit

  • Having watched the whole thing now, it is not really about the tour at all. If Taylor wanted a documentary about her life, she could have just done that. It was disingenuous to frame this as a series about the tour. It was just Taylor PR

Imagine if they’d shown the stage being taken down at the end of a show, interviews with the wardrobe coordinator trying to make sure everyone is in the right costumes, showing the dancers getting ready in their green room, how they eat and drink before a show to have energy etc etc. There was SO much tour related stuff that would of been fascinating

She also did 6 months of training for the tour. It would have been great to see how she handled promoting Midnights while training and then the fiasco with Ticketmaster.

  • I couldn't even make it all the way through these last two episodes. I had to hit fast forward through most of it because I just simply couldn't stand to keep hearing basically the same overblown hype-talk again and again, sandwiched between sad stories trying to pull at my heart strings or whatever. It all felt like one big long fucking commercial that was supposed to be advertising and leading up to something more interesting, but then nothing that interesting ever arrived.

And like many others, I am also truly baffled and stunned that a grown ass 36 year old billionaire apparently just open-mouth coughs all over the place like a literal damn toddler. What in the plague rat fuck, Taylor.

  • That she said "I used to have hobbies and a personality outside the eras tour - I don't know what they were" is so funny cause that's the point. Then she made Travis her whole personality.

Her entire existence is so depressing and she still thinks hoarding money will make her happy somehow.

  • I'm here for the comments and the tea.

  • Now I'm glad I didn't watch this bs. I wanted to look for clues of PR but I couldn't make it past the first half of the second episode. This was a waste of time.

The entire show was a clue for PR lol

  • Meh. Taylor's grandmother's story was nice. And I'm happy the dancers got good pay but as a black female I can't help feeling kind of icky. Like wtf did I just watch? LOL

  • That moment with Gracie when they got back from partying was horrible

What happened I don’t want to watch

  • just being bombarded with ads for this docuseries today absolutely everywhere that I didn't notice before. Very heavy promo today. The streaming numbers must be bad.

    (yay!)

  • Also, can we talk about her Trump-esque qualities? Maybe she hates him so much because she sees so much of herself in him. For example, Donald has his entire Cabinet go around and compliment him whenever they meet. Similarly, these dancers sound like they are being compelled to say nice things to Taylor during each of their pre-show circles or else they lose their jobs. It’s so cringe. 😂

  • Heres my thought on the documentary overall: there was no need for it. Just a regular ass Tuesday in the life of a pop star. There was nothing noteworthy other than constantly feeling like they are forcing me to believe them

  • Also I am DYING at all these clips of talented young people covering her songs being like 10x obviously more talented than she is, and them all acting like she's the first female songwriter to inspire people to write/perform, as if Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morisette, Kate Bush, etc. don't exist. Christ.

  • I also hate to be the one to comment this, and I know losing her mom must have been painful, but Andrea’s crying when they were talking about Marjorie was either forced or the botox (which it looks like she has some of giving how wrinkle free her face is) prevents her from expressing emotions like sadness. Her face did NOT move, and I did not see any tears. 😬

  • I just finished up these last few episodes and...my god.

I cannot believe I used to be a hardcore swiftie once, for most of my childhood, it's insane looking back cuz what in the fucking hell happened💀 what is this clown show

  • can we talk about swifties posting random clips of taybore being a try-hard and quirky and calling her autistic/neurodivergent?

  • appreciate this thread because I'm watching THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY instead - cheers!

  • I watched all the eps last night. It was… boring. I’m 100% convinced the friendship bracelet story is fake. He may have been at the concert, then decided to pursue her, but he didn’t have intention of dating her before the concert.

  • I watched all of it and some parts were great but others were not.

The good: I loved the stories of the dancers and singers and band. There could be a whole series just focusing on them and their lives and how being on this enormous tour changed things for them! I also loved the storyline with Taylor’s grandmother, woven into the story of Kamilah’s mother passing and how performing that song every night impacted her. I got emotional at that part. I miss my granny dearly and that song gets me every time.

The bad: there were so many moments, especially in the last two episodes, where it’s just compilations of the same thing - performers saying “this is incredible. This is indescribable. This means so much to the fans. 70,000 people all coming together at once. Montage of fans crying. Like, this was repeated SO many times that eventually I was like okay we get it! I genuinely was watching this series with an open heart and open mind, I still consider myself a fan of her music and have been from day 1, and even I was like, okay, yes. Groundbreaking, amazing, life changing. We get it! I think that’s an editing problem.

ETA: on the whole, I think this docuseries was kind of all over the place and felt disorganized. I would’ve loved to see an episode for the initial creation of the tour (wardrobe, videography, set list etc). An episode of all the guest collabs, possibly including the entire actual performances. An episode of the logistics like the dive into the stage, the cart under the stage, the quick changes. An episode on the dancers and singers and band stories. An episode about what Taylor had to do to get ready (workout and training), her pre- and post-show routines and how she travels. The last episode could’ve been the lead up and emotional response to the tour ending. It might have felt a little more cohesive that way.

  • Watching her with those world class producers was like watching Scheana Shay in the studio on Vanderpump Rules. But Scheana at least admits she can’t sing.

Those dudes are being paid millions but i couldn’t bare to do that with someone who is tone deaf. Her instrument is bad like why is this happening
