So, this happened when I was in seventh grade. For some context, I am latina, so my hair is very dark, making my bodyhair very visible. I had always been extremely insecure about it and thought it made me look ugly. Okay, story time. I was sitting in my math class and this boy who sits near me---let's call him bitch face---leaned over and said very loudly, "Hey, Starry, why are your legs so hairy? You look like a man with that much hair. You should shave. Body hair is for men." I don't know why I decided to stand up to this boy for once, I typically ignore him, but I did. I turned to him and said, "Well, bitch-face, if body hair is for men, and you don't have any, does that make me more of a man than you?" He sputters, trying to save whatever dignity he felt he had lost when I insulted his masculinity. "Come back when your balls drop." And then I went back to working.

Good for you op! I knew a girl with a similar problem. Except she was struggling with hair on her back. But she was one of the prettiest and fittest girls in our grade. Not justI had a crush on her. A few boys who mocked her for it also had a crush on her (brainless idiots).

Body hair is such a weird competition for boys when it comes to middle school. Either you have too much, or you don't have enough. When I was 6th or 7th grade, it was considered shameful to have it, at least in my class - I'm not sure what the reason was exactly, but I remember going to school in gym clothes, so I wouldn't have to change for sports, thus avoiding being ridiculed for having more hair on my legs than my classmates. It's like most of them were trying to preserve something from their childhood, and growing up was considered bad, even though all of us had hit puberty. Or maybe leg hair was just thought of as gross. This was in the early 2000s, teenage bullies are still the worst. Hope you don't have to deal with someone like that on a daily basis.

As if he knows anything about "being a man"... for that, he would have to grow up and learn than since body hair grows on people regardless of sex or gender, maybe body hair shouldn't be considered "masculine" or whatever and that a real man doesn't care about these things, presents however he wants to present and lets other people present however they want to present.
