I can't get any smaller because it causes constriction, voice cracks and rasp. How do I make my voice richer? What can I work on? I feel like my accent is holding me back a little too, I'm not a native english speaker.
I don't think you need to improve further. You simply sound like your typical eastern european woman (hope I got the region right).
Do you still live in your home country and need your native language? If so, maybe you could upload a snippet of your native language, because than there is no accent and we could probably give better feedback. I'm not an native speaker as well and I'm doing my recordings in my native language for that reason.
And generally you could maybe slow down and be more mindful of your pronounciation, that could help with the accent, but otherwise, I don't think you need to do anything anymore
Well, you got it right on the money with the region. I don't voice train in my native language, I want to improve my english speaking voice. Also when I speak slower I start to sound sad, I think it has to do with airflow.
I'm not satisfied with it, I feel like it sounds hollow and I would love to have a full, rich voice, but I don't know how to go about changing it. I'm sorry I can't give you a better description of what I'm going for, but I just don't know what that voice quality is called :(
I guess I can give an example of what voice I want to emulate, that would be Tasch Ritter's voice, I know I have a very far road ahead. I just don't know how to recreate the quality :(
Than you'll need to try for more weight in your voice i guess. And a bit more "twang" like a metallic sound. But I'm no expert. Just play around with your voice and enjoy the knowledge that you already sound very much like a woman.
And the slowing down should only be temporarily to have more time to think about pronunciation and how to position your voice and all the required muscles how you want them. Over time you'll get much faster and don't need to think about everything as much
First of, is someone downvoting you, or is my reddit freaking out? I give your comments upvotes but they still appear as 1 after I refresh the page.
I think you could get a little smaller with it. what helped me with it was pushing out my tongue as far as possible and saying HO and slowly changing it to HA, then remembering how it felt.
Also, saying "E" like in english "key", I would remember the position of my tongue and try to keep it there while speaking.
The tip of the tongue should be close to the bottom front teeth.
there is also soft palate, you need to close it off, I don't know how to explain the movement so you will have to look it up.
