If you're a gender nonconforming TTRPG player, I hope this provides you with a safe space to find like-minded hobbyists. I wouldn't normally try and advertise this on another server that I moderate, but playing D&D was a major part of my vocal transition journey. I've been thinking of writing a video essay on just how amazing the roleplay community is for trans expression and experimentation.
I looked all day and couldn't find a community just for trans and gender nonconforming TTRPG players. So I just made one. I feel like this could be helpful for you all on transvoice, so if you're interested, check it out. It won't grow without ya
Holy smokes, if I was any good at improv I just realized how outstanding I could be at DMing strictly because of this.
I'm still working on passing cis woman voice because I was never very good at that in particular, but I can go from low-pitched demon of hell to little tiny fairy creature at the snap of my fingers and I think that would be great for immersion.
Different issues each day. I’ve called about protecting the Department of Education, the Postal Service, asking them to reject Trump’s pick to lead the FBI. Also called about a local labor rights issue, but calling ppl outside of your district doesn’t get tallied.
5 Calls gives you a script to read off, I usually modify mine.
So I'm a trans man, but I follow this sub to hear different advice on how to feminize your voice now after being on T because I'm a DM lol!! Definitely following this new sub
Wow this is interesting. I’ve been looking for a way to lower my vocal weight specifically for NPC role playing as a DM. Is there any specific training I have to do or will it lighten naturally if I constantly sing with a raised Larnyx

criminally underappreciated response

Joined instantly omg hecc yes
I really love this idea. I do voice practice in VRchat, but I end up feeling discouraged.
Would be nice to talk with people who are like minded and supportive
This is gr8 because I just started my very first TTRPG campaign ever last Friday
I’m doing voice training every morning when I use the 5 Calls app to contact my representatives (US)
Your 2 senators and 1 rep? Every day? What do you say?
When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow...

I still trying to learn how to do female voice for trolling people)
Oh that I have down. I can do a perfect fem voice to mock people, I just have to figure out how to do it in any other situation but heckling.
I did exactly that, voice train to perform female voice as a DM... then 3 months later egg-break.
This is a cute idea. And I could use more trans friends and practice honestly

Good idea! RP has been my main source of voice training ever since I started really trying.
So funny encountering this today. Literally had this exact thought last night. Great idea!
WAIT.... There are cis people who plays DnD ? (or TTRPG in general) ?
Comment on the meme: Why is that true though?
Like, psychologically, why does that actually have an effect?

This is so wild I saw this today. I had just hit a breakthrough in my voice actually today, and wildly, it happened while I was playing a ttrpg.
