My wife went to him. His team is really awesome. She had minimal depth vulvaplasty and is extremely happy. The team is incredible. They are still in touch, several months later
I did. It took about a year to clear enough for Pariser. The waitlist for a consult is 3 months. If you haven’t started laser/electrolysis start by your consult. It takes about a year for the hair check to be scheduled. And after prior authorization is approved and hair check is okay, it’s another year booking surgery.
Ugh I want this so bad! But I haven't even begun laser or electrolysis on my face 😞. I've been getting by with foundation. Bottom surgery is something I really want first. I've been on HRT for 14 months now. Maybe I can get sessions done on my face and down there at the same time?
Waiting is no fun. I had my consultation July 2023, surgery February 2025. I feel your pain. If you can get laser done on bottom prep start there. You’ll need to get on a waiting list for electrolysis anyways as there aren’t many providers. See what is and isn’t covered by insurance and talk to your doctors about getting a letter and from your therapist as you’ll need those eventually
I don't have a therapist and I go to planned parenthood for my HRT. So I have to pay for a therapist too!? I don't know if I can afford all of this😞
Depends on your insurance, but most require two letters for WPATH standards. You can message me if you want to go over insurance stuff as it can be a hassle
I don't even know If I can use my insurance now. I just got my legal name change papers last month, but I can't go to the social security office until January because they are booked and they don't allow walk-ins ðŸ˜. This is so stressful! I will NOT use my cards that have my dead name on them anymore, I can't do anything until they have my new name ðŸ˜
That sounds very expensive. I only make about $38k a year after taxes and my rent is $1200/no in Roseville... Unless insurance covers it I won't be able to afford that.
As Alex said, Dr Pariser is one of the best in the world and right here at the U. I’ve seen his work on friends and it’s phenomenal, just beautiful healed results. Yes you do need to be hairless, but sometimes laser is enough (my wife and gf will not need electrolysis because laser was very effective). Ymmv. Starting early is key as it is a long process. You got this!
I'm going to add to the chorus and say Pariser. As far as I know, he's the go-to guy in the state for gender confirming surgeries, and had my own orchi done last month. It could not have gone better: his team was great, his bedside manners were good, getting set up went pretty smooth, the suture looks great, healing time has been quick. Every step has been about as good as I could hope for, I cannot recommend him enough
For an orchi I saw Jocelyn Rieder with health partners.
She doesn't necessarily specialize in anything gender affirming but she was very kind, accepting, and lovely to work with.
I'm very happy with my results and she even liked the spayed mark I got tattooed on me before post op and thought it was cute. If for some reason I had to go back I'd absolutely see her again.
Back in the day vets used to tattoo animals that got spayed/ fixed. It's a modification of the male and female symbol. I got the modified female one on my thigh in a similar blueish ink that vets wouldve used.
I had healthpartners insurance this last year and just had my orchiectomy done in November at HCMC by Dr. Pagliara. He also let me know I was able to keep them after they were cleared by pathology, they are currently sitting on a shelf in a jar.
I was in and out in 2 ish hours, I felt safe and respected and I would recommend.
I used to have Aetna and NOBODY accepted Aetna. That was literally the worst insurance I ever had. I had a $2000 bill and they only paid $15 towards it! So glad I have blue cross now.
I went with minimal depth and he did an amazing job. It looks very nice with minimal scarring. He did my girlfriend's too and hers also looks great and functions as expected. :3
Cw: sex stuff - I have full clit function and a roughly 2 inch 'pocket' where the vaginal canal would be, which a vibrating egg sits in nicely if you're into that sort of thing.
Minimal depth doesn't require hair removal or dilation afterwards either! So if penetration isn't important to you or if you are okay with alternative methods of play, minmal is certainly a good option. I have no regrets about mine.
Pariser at the UofM

My gcs is in February, going full! The team is awesome.
Do you have to get electrolysis down there? How long is the wait list?

WPATH standards are one letter, which is what most of the major local insurers require these days

Planned parenthood should be able to give you a letter. Mine has told me they can give me one.
My wife had whole body sessions. You can get it all done at the same time

She gets reimbursed for it but does have to pay upfront

What's a sprayed mark? And I'll look into her!😊

Huh! Never knew that! Learn something new everyday 😊

Anyone know a good surgeon that's covered by aetna. That's what I have and Pariser doesn't cover aetna :(.

Mine covers alot but the problem is I don't know who is good or who is bad.
Chiming in for a Pariser +1
