Hey, like the title. I was wondering if there's been any recent pushes to put FFS or SRS onto medicare.

Or even community based groups trying to push for subsidised surgeries?

Would love to read on it or sign something idk?

  • The application to put gender affirming surgery on Medicare is still with MSAC and we are currently waiting for the next stage of that assessment to start, they should be opening up for submissions from doctors, researchers and trans community again for this, and you should definitely submit your experiences when it does open again, hopefully some time this year

  • MSAC has an application but don't expect it to go anywhere anytime soon.

    It will definitely come too late for me but I'd rather pay my $30k than wait longer

    30k for me is near impossible, been trying but life expenses are wild.

    But i can understand doing it ASAP if you can afford it. I ever get any sort of money i'm instantly doing it.

    Hopefully one day within our lifetimes it'll be as easy as getting a broken arm plastered.
