In your opinion, what constitutes as a “fast” building?

In my mind, I’ve always considered it to be only choosing gags that will kill/combos that will kill. I’ve hosted plenty of “fast” flagged buildings in the past, if someone starts throwing out marbles I’ll politely say it’s a fast building and things are generally fine.

Joined a building earlier, and the host flipped on another toon for using trap door on the first floor (other gags would have killed). Started passing and flipped out saying that fast buildings means NEVER having more than two animations during a round. I thought this was a bit excessive, but wanted to see the consensus on this.

  • To me a fast building is just no training yeah, long as you're trying to defeat the cogs that round the best you can it's chill.

  • Maxed my toon and frequently joined and hosted fast buildings. Never once have I heard about animations being a factor. It has always been like you said: use gags/combos that kill. Sound when applicable, squirt if it clears the floor, or lure + kill combos.

  • Flipping out is incredibly weird and should not be done whatsoever; but I get where they're coming from as there are a couple of reasons why I think people posted those groups before:

    • Theres an ongoing invasion that is about to end in a few minutes, but they also need the building (applies to most tasks)

    • Something personal is happening in real life (washing machine flooding, some things need fixing, emergency call)

Though with them having the EXTRA time to crash out and passing the entire time, I'll just assume that they're tired and just blew their anger towards everyone - completely disregarding and gave up their reason why they labeled their group as a "fast" one.

  • To me, it just means we’re not going out of our way to train. To others it might mean playing as efficiently as possible.

Expecting randoms to consider animation times is wild imo. Respectfully, the host needs to log off and do something else because they are taking a kids game way too seriously if they’re freaking out at someone like that. There is no excuse to act that way.

  • Sound 90% of the time unless you have a single then use your highest gag.

  • Fast means doing it fast which means picking gags quickly and trying to minimize animations yeah, using a trap and lure especially if lures low lvl misses quite often as opposed to using throws which if a trapdoor kills the cog then throw would have no issue hitting. Group leader had a point but if he was flipping out over it that's def weird but also same time this is a reddit post and there could be additional context missing

  • Fast buildings to me have always meant in and out as soon as possible, and yes reducing the amount of animations as possible. This would mean some combo of lure and throw/squirt and sound when needed. In a fast building, I too would be slightly upset if someone pulled out trap, drop or tu just because it does indeed increase the amount of time you spend in a building. I would especially get upset if the gag wasn't enough to kill the cog because usually there would be a silent tu trainer who would take the opportunity to train their tu, thus adding more time to the building.

The host isn't wrong for feeling that way, though I would have chosen to express my frustration a bit differently, but I can imagine why they acted like that. Oftentimes when I was running buildings and needed a group, I did so in invasion districts and a lot of times it was close to when the invasion was ending. If the invasion ends before you get to the top floor, then you don't get as much xp, which is really annoying. Of course, this wasn't always the case and sometimes I just wanted to get other things done and I'm not interested in helping toons train, especially when I specified that I am going fast.

Ultimately, I can see why they flipped out because when it happens enough times, it's irritating. You feel like the group you created isn't going the way you want it to and you're stuck in a building instead of doing the thing you want, which is likely a boss fight.
