I think the ‘precision’ is referring to the olfa snap blades not the laser.
The title is actually closer to “[watch this video of a] 100-watt laser igniter [as it’s used for] cutting [a] blade used for precision cutting.”
If this hits your body anywhere it’s gonna cause problems.
Not really. Flesh absorbs different wavelengths than steel or wood, and water is incredibly good at dissipating heat through phase transition. At very worst you'd get a burn akin to accidentally touching a soldering iron, and more likely you're just going to smell like burning hair for a few hours.
The receptors in your eyes are genuinely what are at risk here. The spot in your eye from reflected light destroying them is going to last years if you're lucky, and that's if it goes away at all.
The heat burns to your body are only if it hits your body, so that’s relatively easy to avoid. The issue with eyes is that even a diffuse reflection (so even if the target isn’t shiny) can damage eyesight with that sort of power. That’s not as obvious as direct burns where you point it.
Lasers in this power range can damage your eyesight by just looking at the reflection of it off of a surface without proper protection. It's not just about it pointing directly into your eye. That would definitely be instant blindness of course.
Check out styropyro on youtube. He's got lasers like this but they are way beefier. The size of this alone doesn't seem like 100w output but it could be doing 100W pulses at a high frequency and not a solid beam.
Do not get one. This is one of the most dangerous handheld tools. just looking at the reflection causes permanent eye damage. Also as you see it does not have a beam. Using it not in an enclosed space is a danger to everyone unless you're miles away from any human (which is not the case for 99.99% of the people)
I feel sorry for the unseen bystanders in the background.
Don't worry... Stormtroopers blasting!
Stormtroopers are precise, just not accurate. They always miss in perfect clusters.
Unseen and now non seeing
It's like the fourth cardinal rule, what's behind your target.
Precision my ass. That things cuts metal like Qui-Gon Jinn cuts through blast doors. Badass though.

So word puke BS title
I agree with you, and also made me realize I didn't know the generic name for an X-Acto blade.
Tripod needed for precise cuts
And still no phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.
Hey, buddy, only what you see.
Temu link?
....now hit a disco ball.
Calm down satan
"Handheld" and "precision cutting" are typically mutually exclusive.
I still totally want one even though I have no idea what I would do with it after figuring out how thick of metal it could cut.
I love how everyone is talking about the dangers to your sight, and somehow ignoring that this laser is almost instantly melting metal.
If this hits your body anywhere it’s gonna cause problems. Your eye is just one small area it could hit.

Aim small, miss small
Wildfire starter
Fuck a tase gun!
Anyone else go right to Amazon?
How much are they?
$400-$1200. Not on Amazon. i learned a little bit about lasers though. not a true 100 w output laser. still cool though
Is it too late to ask Santa?
How can I smuggle one of these into prison? Asking for a friend.
I got ya covered. Grab your ankles
Ah, the old prison pocket.
Sure but what's the battery life?
I feel like you could easily melt someone by accident
"By accident"
I need one.
This feels fake
The consistent wind direction is the only thing convincing me that this is real.
That, and the fact that Chinese hardware that completely ignores human safety is par for the course lol

Plastic shim…
Unterminated beam path… tsk tsk

Yes, I understand that….
Why is it battery powered?
