/today long time Sonic fan here. While it would have been nice if Sonic Racing won the reward, I felt it was very unlikely due to how TGA operates (not to mention the reward itself is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of TGA). I just think the Sonic fandom in general has a really bad habit of desperately needing validation about the fact that their franchise “is good again” from mainstream external sources despite the fact that we can just be satisfied with the great racing game that we got and move on with our lives.
