honestly, in some ways i bet it looks a lot better. N64 was a really ugly console. I had both growing up . and ps1 graphics where a lot sharper. N64 was sooooo muddy looking . even back then it was a problem.
on the other hand though , ps1 had those shaky graphics ... which where also terrible. lol.
EDIT: after watching this video, nope. looks fucking terrible.
I'm willing to accept loading times if it means the game runs better during actual gameplay.
Super Mario 64's source code is a janky mess that left a lot of performance on the table. Modders have been able to fix it and make the game run much smoother.
I'm sure the N64 fans and investors would have enjoyed halting the production for months to "fix" the source code of a perfectly functional, and one of the firsts developments of a new generation of 3D tech, launch game
