You mean like how cigarette commercials legally can't show people actually smoking, and alcohol commercials aren't supposed to show people drinking the alcohol, so they just hold the objects and do stuff like dance or smile while being nearby them?
Not on broadcasted tv or radio, but they can be elsewhere, but with required prominent health warnings that have rules that are very explicit in how the warnings are shown.
And sponsorships are banned, and they're not allowed to distribute free samples either.
Additionally, there was a deal made where tobacco companies have to pay a portion of their revenue each year towards anti smoking campaigns.
So tobacco advertising is all super limited in a bunch of different ways, but it does still exist in some forms. The alcohol advertisements (which are still restricted in a number of ways, but not nearly as much as the cigarette ones are) are much more common to see compared to the cigarette ones.
If they don't show me the crash durability of the marketed vehicle colliding into a wall at 100mph then I agree with your unconscious delusions, they speak volumes.

Wait a minute ... let them cook. The Car Dependency hater in me agrees that it should be treated as smoking is.
