I would hope that dog doesn't look like that whilst someone is 'caring' for it, that fur alone is a huge sign of neglect if so, the mom should probably check for a chip to make sure its owners haven't been missing it for months or something.
You wanna keep hearing her shit or you wanna pick up dog shit? She will never let this argument go. If you don’t give her the damn dog you’re gonna hear it in the nursing home guarantee!
It happened to me, only I never said it to my mom. I befriended a very very shy stray dog, he was abused and abandoned and I gave him food and eventually played with him and kept him company during my freetime back in elementary school. My parents used our friendship to let the animal care catch him and rehome him. I begged for weeks to let me adopt him. They refused. I was devastated, but never asked again. The doggo found a new home very soon and I believe he was loved as much as he deserved.
Two or three years later we got a dog. She turned 10 this year. I love her, but sometimes I still get sad over the fact that it could have been my stray friend instead.
Lmao. Tbh if my mom hadn't passed on, I'll still be bitching about the dog that I named Bandit! I mean, I get it, now, though. We already had 2 dogs and a cat. Yes, I convinced my mom on all of em lol
lol wow people, the dog 98% chance belongs to another family, the little girl isn’t necessarily a reliable narrator and the dog probably belongs to another little girl just like her whose very scared and misses her dog.
This has to be the 1st thing about dog ownership. My younger sister wanted a dog but never wanted to clean up the poop, anyways we had a dog as part of our family for close to 6 years with me cleaning up the yard because my sister found cleaning dog poop disgusting lol.
I have no idea why animals just let children carry them. Same thing happens with my cats. My male cat doesn't like being picked up. But when my niece picks him up, he's just like "welp, here I go."
Same! Our cat hates everyone except me and the kids. I’m the only one she actively seeks out. She will hiss and spit & carryon like she’s about to commit murder and then one of the kids walks by and throws her over their shoulder, “It’s ok, Kitty. You’re okay”. Just wild. They know gentle babies.
Hopefully your dog is chipped and they checked, but I’d rather some child lovingly carried them down the street then they get hit by a car. Also this kid wants a dog. 😂
My dog is chipped and collared and almost never escapes.
I would be grateful if a child (or anyone) took him in and called me to retrieve him, or failing to get my number, post on the local Facebook group. That's what I do whenever I find a dog
Hoping the child then keeps the dog is wild, steps should be followed to find the owner first
I’m sure they believe the child in thinking it’s a stray, that dog I think is behaving too calmly to be a stray. Likely one of the parents will check if the dog is owned and will talk to their daughter about it. But I really do admire the kid’s determination although I think the parents should be cautioning her or at least educating her about picking up random animals in case of parasites or aggression on behalf of the animal.
I can’t say I’ve ever come across a stray dog in the U.K.
that dog I think is behaving too calmly to be a stray
I'm living in Istanbul and there are stray dogs everywhere. All the ones I've come across have surprisingly been super chill like this one. I think they don't go feral in the same way cats do because we've bred them to have an innate link with people. It's actually quite sad because they're all a bit lethargic and depressed due to not having the human link that we bred them to need.
So perhaps there's a chance it's a stray. However they should obviously do due diligence first and check for a chip etc.
I lived in Mexico and sadly there are tons of stray dogs everywhere as well, so giving them a home is a blessing, but yes I agree, finding a possible owner should be done first.
Yeah you’re right and this is very important too, educating the child. Hopefully the parent attempted to find a possible owner, maybe I should add that to my initial comment since it’s such an odd thing to say lol
At the end of the day I hope that dog went back home or found a forever home.
See that's the difference. In many parts of the states, there are stray or just neglected dogs that run wild. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary to think it's stray, even if the dog is calm with being carried around. Of course they should still make attempts to find an owner, but i wouldn't bank on one stepping forward.
Those chips do jack shit, most of the times people get the chip and think it’s registered BUT NO! Tons of animals at shelters have dogs with chips but owners think once it’s in it automatically works like it’s some tech from 2300 that just magically tells your dog where it is. You have to register the chip and then pray to god that the company that’s providing the service for your dog tracking doesn’t suddenly go under.
Yeah it sounds nice and convenient but that’s unfortunately how the story goes when animals with chips are brought into shelters.
Bro honestly. These comments are kind of engaging talking about how cute she is and hoping she kept the dog. Like ok just let your kids walk all over you and then complain about how kids are entitled.
Absolutely cannot keep that dog. That girl is going to think she can have anything she wants for the rest of her life by smiling cutely and ignoring people when they say no
Gosh, at last. I was going through the comments here hoping that someone would see the elephant in the room.
That kid got the arrogance, the confidence and is stubborn all at the same time.
"That's just a kid doing kid stuff, let her have what she wants; she is so cute!"
I'm not thinking that we can't talk about things before doing it, who knows, maybe you know what you are doing. I'm for conversation and logical arguments and considering someone else's perspective. That's how kids understand that communication is important, they will value logical arguments and words over emotionally-based choices. (They will feel respected). That's how you turn a kid into a mature adult for society. Having respect for someone's feelings, perspective and consideration is so good into making that person feel listened to and considered. And a lot of issues (not all) could have just been fixed with words in a mature and calm setting.
However, don't ever let kids just walk on you and have what they want just because. We don't need anymore of these people in society.
Pets help kids learn responsibility empathy teamwork time management, they help mute allergy sensitivity and keep them occupied. Pets are great. But you do have to monitor the situation carefully and make sure its going well
I’m one of those people that’s a lost dog magnet. I used to find at least one per year. Last year I found an Akita. She was the biggest lost dog I’ve ever found.
Dogs like: “okay we’re doing good, just keep staying calm”
Think of all the food and pets in the future. Just look adorable and we're good.

There’s one for cats too:
r/thisismylifemeow
Well that's adorable
Dog: Urge to bite at maximum, but I need to play this cool.
That's how I got my dog. Except it was not a child. It was my wife, but it was basically the same conversation.
"Whose girl is that?"
"Nobody's. So she's mine now."
"You're not bringing that girl in this house."
"Yes, I am."
"no, you're not."
(timeskip to wedding)
"She's mine now."
You married the dog?
I laughed way to hard at this. Take my up vote dammit.

No, the dog was the priest and married u/boof_a_dick and their wife
That dog ate 8 home made cinnamon roll off the counter this afternoon.....

I know whose dog that is
just gotta pop his eye back in with your knuckle sometimes, good as new
Why is it the same dog and they're holding it the same way lmao
That’s it! She’ll never relent. Mam, you are now the proud co-owner of this cute dog.
if that dog was a stray, then it must at least have been raised by humans. strays wouldn’t „act“ like that
Lots of community strays out there. (People are good about fixing them though, so I think the number is declining quickly)
Yeah, for all we know she kidnapped it
For all we know it's her dog and it's a skit.
Yeah that dog belongs to somebody lol
I would hope that dog doesn't look like that whilst someone is 'caring' for it, that fur alone is a huge sign of neglect if so, the mom should probably check for a chip to make sure its owners haven't been missing it for months or something.
Could be lost.
That's what the last sentence of my comment says lol
Have you considered the possibility that it might be lost
Damn.. you might be right
But what if that dog you were talking about yesterday was lost?
Ye but what if he’s lost?
Neglect? It could just be a terrier mix with wire hair.
Belonged
Does it also sign of rabies?
Pretty sure that dog already has a family. And if it didn't I hope they made sure of that. My friend's dog got stolen that way. The heartbreak is real
According to https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPDJauZD9ie/ they found the owner a day later and the dog was returned
Thank god. A gentle reminder here to microchip and register your pets!
Or to keep them in a leash, preferrably close to you.
So many things could've gone wrong with that dog. Being kidnapped by a loving girl is the best one of them.
Wonderful!
How do you know they got stolen that way? Did your friend see their dog with another family and then just accepted their fate?
Did your friends dog have a collar? Maybe your friends dog was better off.
You wanna keep hearing her shit or you wanna pick up dog shit? She will never let this argument go. If you don’t give her the damn dog you’re gonna hear it in the nursing home guarantee!

your mom sounds lovely
She was a good mom. My buddies would come over just to hang out with her lol
lol wow people, the dog 98% chance belongs to another family, the little girl isn’t necessarily a reliable narrator and the dog probably belongs to another little girl just like her whose very scared and misses her dog.

Im guessing thats how somebody came up with Lilo and Stitch
Something tells me that girl is use to getting what she wants and that mom is use to giving in 🤣
Yes we are!

What an odd thing to hope... If my dog got out and someone found them I hope they wouldn't try to keep him :/
Hopefully your dog is chipped and they checked, but I’d rather some child lovingly carried them down the street then they get hit by a car. Also this kid wants a dog. 😂
Than.
Then implies you want this dog and kid to walk down the street and get hit by a car, lmfao. 💀🤣
A certainly more dramatic telling
English is a silly language.
My dog is chipped and collared and almost never escapes.

Agreed but I was just looking at the neighbourhood and the cars and thinking hmm doubt it looks like an area where they’d have strays

The parents seemed sensible and I'm sure the proper steps were taken. It's the commenter I replied to that I was talking to/about
I live in a fairly rural area of Australia, stray/escaped dogs aren't super common where I live, but it does happen from time to time
See that's the difference. In many parts of the states, there are stray or just neglected dogs that run wild. Yes I’m always neurotic about my animals and their chips! Hopefully though this dog had some identification or the owners came looking
Damn you let your kid talk to you like that? Establish some boundaries.
Bro honestly. These comments are kind of engaging talking about how cute she is and hoping she kept the dog. Like ok just let your kids walk all over you and then complain about how kids are entitled.
My first thought. If any child of mine talked to me like that they'd be kissing their TV, iPad, toys etc. Goodbye.
Yeah honestly. Its got to be pretty bad if the kid is literally carrying a stray dog home like its no big deal
Absolutely cannot keep that dog. That girl is going to think she can have anything she wants for the rest of her life by smiling cutely and ignoring people when they say no

People think it's cute now. Until she becomes an Amazon empress later on who kicks puppies and stuff and takes whatever she wants.
Hopefully the dog is reunited with its owner.
And it’s not cute or funny hearing kids ignore their parents like that.
The lawyer 🤣🤣🤣
Pets help kids learn responsibility empathy teamwork time management, they help mute allergy sensitivity and keep them occupied. Pets are great. But you do have to monitor the situation carefully and make sure its going well
Little brat keeps saying “yes we are”
and then by the power of gentle parenting, they now have a dog.
How do children get like that? Jesus, that's scary.
So sweet!
At the very least, take the dog in and get him checked for a chip or something. Couldn't see a collar but it could have been abandoned
We now know Anaya runs that house. congrats mom, you just got a new addition you never knew you wanted.
Kid who loves dogs is absolutely good person
Yes we are!
What an awful kid
She’s a blessing! I love her sassy response! That dog is taken care of! He will have the best life ever!
That child is a bully or is going to become one if her parents don't put down some boundaries and teach her respect. Not cute
Dog expert here. That’s definitely her dog.
I can see why she's name anaya
I’m one of those people that’s a lost dog magnet. I used to find at least one per year. Last year I found an Akita. She was the biggest lost dog I’ve ever found.
That little girl is beyond adorable and confident and I love that for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Confidence is key! Plus, good on the girl for rescuing an animal in need.
What an angel
Looks like AI to me
You're not going to win this argument!
It could have fleas. Not taking that in my house and out it down🤣🤦

She speaks like a bitch already, doesn’t need a dog.
