We were once sitting in the living room and I spotted something about the size of my hand slowly moving across the carpet… “WTF is that???”
I went over and discovered that it was a partially-eaten pork-chop. I picked it up and immediately realized that there were ants all over my hand. It was being carried by ants.
My Mom had Alzheimer’s and had a habit of putting food she didn’t want to eat in different places. She would wrap up a sandwich in Kleenex and put it under the pillow on the couch, on the windowsill behind the curtain, or under the couch.
In this case it was under the couch. We had thousands of flying ants swarming in the neighbourhood that week. They dropped their wings and some had gotten into the house.
Usually, they go for the cat food.
I don’t know where they planned to get it outside because there was no way to exit with it.
I vacuumed them up and disposed of the pork-chop. I started checking under the couch for food Mom might put there.
Previously, I tracked down the smell if something rotting and discovered that she had gone to the freezer and taken out a package of shish kebabs that I had bought a few days before. She opened the package and realized that it was frozen meat and put it under the couch.
I had been planning to make them for supper the next week but couldn’t find them.
Learning to deal with someone with Alzheimer’s is a learning process. There’s always a new thing to account for.
This is some of the cutest graffiti I've ever seen in my life...I assume?
I’d run if the ant shoes are that big
They have these stencils for elf on a shelf

You don't want to know.
Nike: "The Queen's money is as good as anyone else's."
The ants are eating and slaying the boots!
