Thanks u/KlintFromYoutube for sharing this find. Just unboxed it, sharing a few photos. This is the only cinch-toploader backpack I know of. It's a unique bag, and my first top-loading(-only) backpack.
It's pretty roomy. Does not stand on its own :( I took a picture of the bottom for y'all to see. Plus the bottle pockets are elevated so that will not help it stand if those are used. Note that there is a zipper pull that opens to a whole-front-panel pocket under that horizontal strap at the top. There are lots of attachment points!
Straps and backpanel seem pretty well padded and comfortable. Water bottle pockets and front pocket are very usable. The last picture is of the internals and laptop sleeve. You can see the little pull on the cinch to open it easily.
Just a neat, unique, inexpensive, versatile bag.
edit: will stand on its own pretty well but only if the bottom is really filled out. I stuffed my winter jacket at the bottom and it stood well, with or without laptop & folder.
Looks great!!! Hope you enjoy it!
Dakine bags are severely underrated! Hope you enjoy the bag!
Love love love a cinch/drawstring/toploader!
Yeah it's a rare combo! I always think I'm "done" with bags and then Klint linked this in his newsletter and I went "huh, that's different" so I wanted to check it out. It has changed my mind on top loaders slightly. Top loaders w/ tote handles 👍
Here's the full album of photos, with some more, on imgur.
Very nice!
