Just watched The Killing Fields after i watch The Sea Men special another time and Jeremy brought it up.

its a great film that catches you off guard when you least suspect it with brutal moments.

its a long film, but if you have the time check it out.

  • Won 3 Oscars and was culturally significant.

  • And the sad think is Haing s Ngor was shot out side his home in LA over a locket after he real did survive the killing fields

  • I haven't seen it, but I've been to Cambodia and seen the killing fields, the prisons, every part of the horror. I'll never forget it, it was unimaginably brutal what that psychopath did.

Same. Was there about 10 years ago. Read the book "In the shadow of the banyan" during the trip. Going on the tour of the killing fields after that read was quite an experience. Really recommend the book for those interested in the subject.

  • Same and holly fuck was he right

  • A quite simply brilliant film and one of such cultural significance.

  • It's a brutal film about insanely awful events. I went and found it after Sea Men originally aired. I was only vaguely familiar with the Khmer Rouge... I was not prepared.

  • I saw this film when I was super young (not the best idea) but I knew what Clarkson was about to say before he said it due to getting that serious face and voice. Clarkson very rarely snapped into “ok this shit is serious, you have to listen and not laugh right now” mode.

  • Read Haing Ngor's book and it was devastating. Still want to see this film

  • Is the Ellis?

  • Oh damn, I didn't know Mike Oldfield did the music for that movie

Oh shit I didn't know that until now. Good catch

  • Here is another recommendation closely related to this film, The Act of Killing
